If you have had a problem accessing the site today or have found it a little slow, the reason is ProBoards experienced a "distributed denial-of-service attack" (DDoS). To explain in simple terms for the techno-phobes (myself included!) - think of it like this: If a person had control over a million cars, and sent them all to the same freeway at the same time, there would be gridlock, and no legitimate drivers would be able to drive. Thats what a DDOS attack is (Servers = freeway; DDOS = Cars) There was never any risk to data, its nothing to do with hacking etc. The word attack is used because someone is doing something malicious - probably some spotty 13-year-old geek getting the horn in his bedroom! Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible, as they say on TV! Full details of DDOS attacks here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denial-of-service_attack
