Oh dear - expect to be closed down soon then It's extraordinary that these sites haven't been closed down already. There are lots of them, dedicated to a wide variety of bands, and they are very easy to find if you can Google. Why they haven't been shut down is a question that deserves an answer. Not that I'm complaining, mind you; I never imagined that I would have a bootleg collection this good even in my wildest fits of dementia (thanks, BlueMeanie).

My opinion is that Apple/EMI/Capitol know all about them, and are probably monitoring as we speak. They may view them as a kind of free promotion, and they may also think (as I suspect most record labels really do) that it doesn't hurt their sales one iota.

I'm open for business again at: 6plus3.blogspot.com/It's not as easy to navigate as the old site, but it'll have to do for now, until I've designed a brand new home. I'll be transfering the contents of the old site over the next few days, so if at first you don't find what you want, check back later. Paul.

It's still in it's infancy I'm afraid. And getting used to the inadequacies of Blogger is proving difficult. I've had to do a separate blog for users comments, as blogger doesn't do e-mail notification!
I've found a great deal for hosting my own site at Surftown - a Danish company just up the road from me. But just reading the terms and conditions of use is making me nervous! Distributing bootlegs, even free, is such a grey area with the law.

Oh Paul...
This makes me very sad indeed ~~ the bastards! As you said, what you're doing IS free promotion, keeping people enthralled with all things Beatle ~ but when too many people start knowing about it, down comes the foot of doom. Well, the record industry is on its last legs anyway ~ according to the posted email conversations on SimonNapierBell.com ~ he knows whereof he speaks, having dealt intimately with those buttwipes for over 40 years. So their day is coming.
Much, much luck with the new Blogger (I know how inadequate they are) ~ and onward & upward with your own site! Love ya, dude!
Christine~

Thanks Christine. After spending a very painful few hours trying to get stuff up and running on Blogger, I finally lost patience and gave up. I have a copy of the old site, and my hosting service uses Wordpress software, so I should be able to have it up and running again under it's own domain in a few days.

Any word on the new site, Paul? Haven't heard anything for awhile, just salivating for more Beatlegems (and obviously impatient ) Best of luck, and Johnspeed Cheers, Mr. Kite!

It will hopefully be back up within a week. To start with it'll look exactly like the old site, but I'm going to re-design the interface so that I can incorporate more features. I decided to leave it a while to let things die down, in case whoever reported it in the first place is looking out for it's re-birth. Please feel free to suggest any aditional features that you'd like to see. I've been putting together a Beatles YouTube blog recently: beatlesonfilm.blogspot.com/ and I expect that I'll eventually incorporate that in the new design.

wow...nice beatlesfilm site! Record time to bookmark (.oooo1 microseconds or thereabouts) i left a message for you at the blogger site...asking if the new site be on blogger or on your own domain (as you mentioned before somewhere). so somebody REPORTED it? what *%&(*$# would do that to such a great & wonderful resource? seesh...always a partypooper. well, i'll keep any info to myself about new site...i sincerely hope I didn't blow anything by turning beatlebuddies onto 6plus3, but it was only a few folks and they were bonafide beatlefreaks with whom I've traded boots before, i cannot believe any of them would complain. As I recall, their reaction was more like "Halleuljah"! anyway, thanks for all you do, and can't wait for the return of 6plus3! Mr. Kite!

I was thinking that too - might be a good idea as it'll get it off the radar.

It's one of the reasons I haven't put the site up yet. On one hand it would be the sensible thing to do, to help mask it from the evil establishment. On the other, most of the old visitors wouldn't know where to find it. And I like the name. (Only one person ever asked me why it was called 6 plus 3).

How does 'Bent Backed Tulips' sound? The domain's available.
I couldn't get 'Glass Onion', but Glass Onions is also available in .net and .org.
