I have just got back from Macca's Hyde Park show - WOW!! He seriously put on the best gig I've ever seen!! BIG surprises were Ram On, Day Tripper, A Day In The Life, Give Peace A Chance, Venus and Mars/Rock Show, 1985... I could go on! I am SO glad I went as I was in two minds whether to go or not! My feet ache! AL

Nevermind Macca, what were Crosby Stills and Nash like? That set list of Macca's sounds amazing though.

Nevermind Macca, what were Crosby Stills and Nash like? That set list of Macca's sounds amazing though. Crosby, Stills and Nash came on-stage immediately following England's defeat by Germany and as such the atmosphere was pretty flat to say the least. Unfortunately, their chilled-out set did little to re-energise the crowd but that's obviously not their fault. Macca's show, on the other hand, was little short of perfect! He had the crowd eating out the palm of his hand as he rocked through the usual hits interlaced with a few obscurities and album tracks for the die-hard fans. I certainly wasn't expecting Tequila (by The Champs) though!!! Here's the complete setlist: Venus & Mars / Rock Show Jet All My Loving Letting Go Got to Get You Into My Life Highway (The Fireman) Let Me Roll It Tequila (The Champs) Foxy Lady (Jimi Hendrix) The Long and Winding Road Nineteen Hundred And Eighty Five Let 'Em In My Love I'm Looking Through You Two Of Us Blackbird Here Today Dance Tonight Mrs Vandebilt Eleanor Rigby Ram On Something Sing the Changes (The Fireman) Band on the Run Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da Back in the U.S.S.R. I've Got a Feeling Paperback Writer A Day in the Life / Give Peace A Chance Let It Be Live and Let Die Hey Jude Encore 1: Day Tripper Lady Madonna Get Back Encore 2: Yesterday Helter Skelter Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (reprise) / The End That's 41(ish) tracks by my reckoning!!

Unfortunately, their chilled-out set did little to re-energise the crowd but that's obviously not their fault. Don't let that experience put you off them. They have written some amazing songs and vocals are second to none. If you haven't already got some of their albums I strongly recommend them. McCartneys set just sounds sensational though. Nineteen hundred and eighty five! Wow!

No, I agree, it was just unfortunate timing - they were very good and you certainly won't be disappointed You should've seen my face when those opening piano chords struck up - I couldn't believe it!! One on my all-time favourite Macca songs!

I would have loved to have seen your face so for the benefit of myself and other forum members could you re-enact this face by way of a photo?
