Ok then, did anyone see Lennon Naked on the BBC on Wednesday night? This needs some serious discussion. It was obviously Apple endorsed and presumably Yoko ensdorsed. But christ! it contained the worst Lennon accent I have ever heard in my life (and for that matter an even worse McCartney accent!) Alledgedly Christopher Eccleston worked on Lennons accent for three months before filming.
Did a press conference with all four Beatles take place to promote Magical Mystery Tour? I can't remember seeing it so please tell me if it did. Did Lennon actually leave the UK on 3rd September 1971 with no intention to return? Surely he never returned due to the fact that if he left The States he would never of got back in! Was there any need for seeing so much of Christopher Ecclestons Penis?
Let's discuss.

I agree, the accent was the worst i have ever heard. From any books i have personally read on Lennon,i believe he would have returned.possibly not forever but at least to see MIMI.? Make a continuation of NOWHERE BOY!!(from Hamburg on). Jon.

I watched the film and enjoyed it. Chris Eccleson got into the part well, although he was maybe too old to play John. It was a bit uncomfortable too see John being very cold towards Julian, but when he met Yoko, he seemed to only really want her around and everyone else had to take a backseat. He just seemed to be a very angry young man at this stage of his life and i would much rather remember him just a few years later on The Old Grey Whistle Test being interviewed with Bob Harris being very witty and back to his old self. I would personally like to see a film from 1975-80 when he was mostly out of the limelight .

There were some very well written parts. The part that encapsulated the whole point of the film was at the end when John is leaving for America destined never to return. John said he had nothing to stay in England and a reporter said 'what about your son?' At that moment he you could see that he had basically become his father.
I just thought Eccleston played the part far too seriously and over the top. I thought the scenes with Christopher Fairbank (playing Freddie Lennon - incidently he played Moxey in Auf Wiedersien Pet), Fairbank totally stole the scenes.
Of course John was going to come back to Liverpool at some point.

Saw it today and i thought it was ok. It's always hard too make a film like this and satisfy everybody and stay true too the truth at the same time.
Why not make a tv series about the band that spans from the mid 50's to the present day. That would be a very cool thing but probably expensive as hell but one can dream.

I took one look at the dvd cover and didn't even bother to pick it up. It looks terrible & the bloke playing LENNON looks terrible, looks like a b grade film (FAIL).

I saw it the first time it was on T.V. last year . I am always a weary about these kinda things But I really enjoyed it . It was a drama and it was not going to be exactly what Lennon did or did not . It is just like Nowhere Boy . Someones interpretation of a tale that is really known to the person it`s about .
Good or bad what people think about Lennon`s personal life at the end of the day his music will be always be what Lennon was about . He was and still is apart of the greatest band that has ever walked on this planet .
