Hi all. Today I was in a charity shop where I found a very old looking cassette tape of SGT Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. I am looking for information about this item and thought that maybe some of you could help. I will describe it as best I can. The inlay features a red title area at the top of the front face. Within this area it has "BEATLES" in yellow, with a black and white "EMI" logo to its right. Below this in white it says "SGT PEPPERS LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND". Below this is a picture of the album cover with a thin red line beneath it.
On the inner part of the inlay are black and white photo's of the Beatles heads with "SGT PEPPERS LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND" above them in orange and red lettering. The spine is yellow and features a circular logo with 1 7/8 I.P.S. inside. There is also the album title, band name and catalogue number TC-PCS 7027.
Inside the inlay is the track listing and other information such as "SOLD IN THE U.K. SUBJECT TO RESALE PRICE CONDITIONS. SEE PRICE LIST." "P 1967" "PUBLISHERS : Northern Songs." "THIS STEREO "MUSICASSETTE" ALSO GIVES GENUINE MONAURAL REPRODUCTION" "E.M.I. RECORDS" "(The Gramophone Company Ltd.)" "HAYES . MIDDLESEX . ENGLAND" "Made and printed in Great Britain" There are also the Parlophone and E.M.I logos.
The cassette itself is white with a yellow/gold label. Top left there is the catalogue number TC-PCS 7027. Below that there is P 1967. Below that there is a rectangular EMI logo, and beneath that a square PARLOPHONE logo. Below that there is the "This stereo musicassette etc.
Overall it is in almost perfect condition. Labels intact and clean. No fading lettering, tears, scratches or rub marks. The insert is in an almost mint condition. Clean and bright, no stains, tears, rips, creases or defacing. I have not had the opportunity to play it yet but plan to do so in the next couple of days.
Any information would be welcome, as would any information as to its value, how common, scarce or collectable it is etc etc..
Kindest regards.
Andy.
