The bootleg Get Back to Toronto seems to have morphed over the years. The version I heard many, many years ago had many rare tracks. Among them was a slow, piano version of In my Life, a 12 string version of Every Little Thing, a Get Back version with the line "Don't want no Pakistanis take away the peoples jobs" and a version of Teddy Boy with Lennon coming in singing "swing your partner round and round". Most of these versions I have never heard anywhere else. But the biggest mystery is a recording of a cassette player(?) playback of a song with John singing these lyrics: " upon the stage/she hears a sound/ a thousand guitars/(something)loud ". Then there is a change (bridge/chorus?) which includes the lines "the day she became homecoming queen/ she's living inside a dream " Two questions. Does anyone know if Purple Chick sells that version to GB to TO? Second, anyone heard of that Lennon demo?
Thanks BlueMeanie. I don't have time right now to look at your site but will do that later. Sounds good. The "In My Life" I heard wasn't Martin's piano solo but rather John singing the song as a slow ballad w/ only piano accompaniment (his own?). The "Every Little.." was an acoustic 12 string. Again, never heard that again. That Lennon demo I suspect was caught by the LIB film crew which recorded part of a cassette(?) playback in the studio. Somehow I have some vague memory about that demo being considered for SPLHCB, but that could be my own delusion. Just not sure. Thanks again!

Hi Alaskan. Let's take these one at a time.
1. The slow piano version of 'In My Life' I assume by this that you mean the bridge that sounds like a harpsichord? This was recorded and performed by George Martin while The Beatles were off having a tea break! It was then sped up to give the sound we all know. The slow version is available on the 'Purple Chick Rubber Soul Deluxe' Set, disc 3.
2. Every Little Thing - 12 String. Not sure, but I have a faint memory of it. It may have been something else though. I'll do some digging when I get time. They did play it during the Get Back sessions, but I'm not sure if anyone would have had an electric 12 string on them. Though you're welcome to trawl through the Day By Day series if you like. You can download all 76 CD's of it from my blog!
3. No Pakistanis. This is quite famous, and appears on quite a few boots. The version I have is on 'The Alternate Let It Be' Pear Records.
4. Teddy Boy. This is on Anthology 3.
5. Don't know the Lennon demo. Sorry.
Lastly, Purple Chick don't sell anything. They are fan created discs, for fans, and are free to download. You can get the lot in lossless at my blog. Click the image in my sig. On the blog, click the 'Hotlinks' tab, this page lists all the bootlegs on the site, with a link to each of them.
Hope this was helpfull.
