What the hell happened with the stereo mix of Please Please me? For a start, at the beginning it sounds like the left and right channels are out of sync but that's nothing compared to the last 20 seconds of the track. At 1:44 the timing between the left and right channels just falls apart. On the "What Goes On" site it states: "Timing goes out with the introduction of a harmonica edit piece. Edit piece is slower than the left (rhythm) channel and catches up in time for the last three chords." I don't agree that it "catches up" - I think that whatever it is that's out of sync (probably the harmonica dub) is simply faded out at the end. In my opinion, the harmonica track is being fed into the two track mix (badly). I'd be interested to hear Brian K's take on this - and that of everyone else of course.

Sorry I missed this, I went to England for Norman Smith's funeral. I don't have it here to listen to - and I'm not one who memorizes every detail. I'd have to listen to it before I comment...

Here's the stereo version of Please Please Me to which Michelle is referring.
