I know I am hearing George loud and clear, and yet ... it's so hard for me to pick out his part.

Well you know that The Beatles where harmony genious, a technique which is hard to manage.
George's part is the same as Paul's but one octave below.

It's a Dmaj7th, so the first notes they sing are an F#, an A and a C# - with the C# being the major 7th. (what a geek eh? ) I think John's on the F#, George is on A and Paul is on C#.
