Hello. I just recently came into possession of a, what I've been told, a very rare set of Beatles Volume 2, 4 tape set of Alpha Omega 8-tracks. They are in near mint condition and I'm trying to find out a value of these. Any help or info would be apreciated. This is not the albums, but the 8-tracks.

Is this the bootleg collection of Beatle tracks that prompted the release of the Red and Blue albums?

Interesting stuff - not seen these before! Thanks for posting. The fact that they are on 8 track may have some effect on the value: on the one hand, they were probably pressed in lesser quantites which means they would be rarer, however I'm not sure there's much of a collector's market for 8 track tapes at the moment. As such I would unfortunately not place a great value on the tapes. I would suggest doing a search on eBay under completed listings to see if a similar set has been sold before, that will give you a general idea what collectors are paying these days. All the best AL

All the best AL You know, I truly thought the same thing. I've always looked at 8-tracks kinda like vcr tapes, or cassettes. That was until I got on ebay and saw that 8-track tapes are selling all day long for 2 and 3 hundred, and some 8-track tapes are bringing over $500 , then I started looking at them a little more serious. I'm sure if Beatlology rates these as Holy Grails for beatle collectors, They're probably worth a pretty penny. As far as finding a similar set, from what I've read, only a handful exist in 8-track. You'd be pretty hard pressed to find a set within 5-10 years come up on ebay, if the quantities are that limited. And you know nobody would wanna part with em, if they do have 'em.

Blimey, I had no idea 8 tracks were so valuable - the Betamax of the tape world, or so I thought! I'm quite an enthusiastic collector but never even considered 8 track!
I wish you the best of luck if you're selling them - and please let us know how much they went for if you do.
Thanks again for posting those details.
All the best
AL
