I'm very nervous about this . I don't know what it is with me and Macca in his later years.
I guess it would be like for Christians if God came down to Earth and got a job in a supermarket collecting trollies .
But I'll be watching it

But I'll be watching it When I was a Beatle fan in the 60's John was always my favorite until he hooked up with Yoko. Then I went over to George after that and also after the break-up. Paul & Ringo were always 'just there'. lol Now that both John & George are gone I only like Paul & Ringo cause they are the only two left when this all happened. If Paul & Ringo hadn't been Beatles I doubt if I would even care what they are doing right now.

If Paul & Ringo hadn't been Beatles I doubt if I would even care what they are doing right now. The thing with me was that I was a Wings fan before a Beatles fan . So Macca was my idol and of course when I got into The Beatles obviously Macca was my main man Heck I even named my son after him . But as I got into my late teens Mr Lennon was slowly taking over Macca`s mantle . Then of course at the age of 18 I was full on Lennon that was in 1980 after Paul was going all Mull of Kintyre and London Town . And then that dark day . Macca kind of lost my 1000% concentration as the years went by and apart from Flowers In The Dirt and the brilliant tour in 1990 I didn`t enjoy Macca`s career . I find it very weird that the next generation Beatle/Macca fans go all gooey when Macca releases an album . Maybe it`s just me , but Macca has now go into very safe mode on albums and his voice may be the reason for it Come to think of it I`ve thought that since the 80`s . I also have the same thoughts on The Stones . Who the hell has been buying Stones album after 1983 , because they have been terrible and as for live Gigs ! Completist`s ? People who have a very low quality threshold when it comes to watching live bands. Anyway ! I have the Macca program lined up and ready to go , so I`ll try and enjoy it. I`ve seen a clip of it already and I just can`t see anything but that "Macca human spitting image " thing going on . Right I better be off as I`ve gone all honesty mode and you`re not allowed to have an opinion that doesn`t agree with the masses See you laters !

I was just thinking that we have a generation of 70 + rock stars that are having to navagate a whole new blueprint for what a rock star is.
I think The Stones rep would have improved if they had split after Mick Taylor left. Old blues stars seems to fit a profile of the touring musician in their 70's/80's but it feels so odd to be hearing about The Who, Stones et al all in their 70's /80's who were once the enfant terible of rock. I think as I mentioned before this is the twilight of the Gods and we will never see their like again.

I never came back and give my thoughts on the rest of the 1 2 3 McCartney doc season 1. Is there going to be another one ? I really enjoyed it . Macca telling us a few antidotes I've never heard before. It gives you more in-depth recording of The Beatles that made them so unique

I think we need a little history of the accident. This accident happened in mid-December 1965, Paul injured his lip and chipped his tooth in the moped accident. He honestly thought no one would notice the chip, for it is so small. Brian Epstein told him three times he should do something about it. It is in a place where there are no nerve ends, so there is no pain. Paul assured Brian that he would have the tooth capped, but – unfortunately – he never did. Also on the night time ride was Tara Browne, McCartney’s friend. Browne was the Guinness heir whose death inspired John Lennon to write the opening lines of ‘A Day In The Life’. Paul: "I had an accident when I came off a moped in Wirral, near Liverpool. I had a very good friend who lived in London called Tara Browne, a Guinness heir – a nice Irish guy, very sensitive bloke. I’d see him from time to time, and enjoyed being around him. He came up to visit me in Liverpool once when I was there seeing my dad and brother. I had a couple of mopeds on hire, so we hit upon the bright idea of going to my cousin Bett’s house. We were riding along on the mopeds. I was showing Tara the scenery. He was behind me, and it was an incredible full moon; it really was huge. I said something about the moon and he said ‘yeah’, and I suddenly had a freeze-frame image of myself at that angle to the ground when it’s too late to pull back up again: I was still looking at the moon and then I looked at the ground, and it seemed to take a few minutes to think, ‘Ah, too bad – I’m going to smack that pavement with my face!’ Bang! There I was, chipped tooth and all. it came through my lip and split it. But I got up and we went along to my cousin’s house. When I said, ‘Don’t worry, Bett, but I’ve had a bit of an accident,’ she thought I was joking. She creased up laughing at first, but then she went ‘Holy…!’ I’d really given my face a good old smack. So she rang a friend of hers who was a doctor. He came round on the spot, took a needle out and, after great difficulty threading it, put it in the first half of the wound. He was shaking a bit, but got it all the way through, and then he said, ‘Oh, the thread’s just come out – I’ll have to do it again!’ No anaesthetic. I was standing there while he rethreaded it and pulled it through again. In fact that was why I started to grow a moustache. It was pretty embarrassing, because around that time you knew your pictures would get winged off to teeny-boppery magazines like 16, and it was pretty difficult to have a new picture taken with a big fat lip. So I started to grow a moustache – a sort of Sancho Panza – mainly to cover where my lip had been sewn. It caught on with the guys in the group: if one of us did something like growing his hair long and we liked the idea, we’d all tend to do it. And then it became seen as a kind of revolutionary idea, that young men of our age definitely ought to grow a moustache! And it all fell in with the Sgt Pepper thing, because he had a droopy moustache." McCartney’s chipped tooth and scar can be seen in the promotional videos for ‘Paperback Writer’ and ‘Rain’, which were filmed in London in May 1966. *The encounter with the drunken doctor after the accident helped inspire the song ‘Rocky Raccoon’ three years later in 1968, is what Paul is talking about in the above video.
