Chas Newby made an important contribution to the story of the Beatles. Although he only played a few gigs with them, he was in the line-up for that famed Litherland show on 27th December 1960, which really launched the group on the Merseybeat scene. Despite being left handed, he borrowed a standard bass and played it upside down! This interview in The Liverpool Echo contains a video interview. Another interview can be heard here....
