www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m0005prt/top-of-the-pops-the-story-of-1988I really enjoyed this last night , we got a little taste of the dance revolution with acid house , S'Express and the odd fact that was new to me. The Only Way Is Up by Yazz and the plastic population was actually a Northern Soul cover. Some funny moments when record promoters tried to get their acid house or dance acts acts on Top of the pops and having to explain to the middle aged producer that they didn't actually play instruments . Well worth checking it out.

These was my era and it was something to see how bad the clothes were. My own personal fashion sense was atrocious in the 1980's Patterned tights, monochrome woolly jumpers. day glow summer wear and stupid stiletto's, and terrible perms.

Perms , yes that was the Eighties , worst hairstyle of all times , think this was just before 88 when even men were getting them, Liverpool football team in particular. Quite liked the ripped jeans look and the smiley faces. My ripped jeans weren't trendy i just looked like a tramp, couldn't get the balance right.
