I have John's Ric 325V58, his Sonic Blue 61 strat, Gibson J-160E, Paul's leftie '63 Hofner 500/1, George's 'Lucy' Les Paul Custom and his first guitar the Egmond. Probably the next guitar I get will be George's Rocky strat, but I'm also hunting for one like Paul's first guitar a Zenith Model 17.

I thought that might have been one of those '97 Hendrix 'VooDoo' Tribute strats with the leftie necks, but that has a rosewood neck and the VooDoo's were all maple necks. So maybe a one off his guitar tech built for him. SRV played a Hendrix tribute strat with a leftie neck. This was the rare '80 prototype he just happened to find for sale in a little guitar store one time.

I think you are right about the guitar tech having a lot to do with building that Strat, with help from the Fender Custom Shop Here's a short interview with Jeff about his guitars, but he doesn't mention that reverse-headstock Strat
... and here's Steve, his tech, discussing the guitars....
Note, the great book collection!

Here ya go brew...... The Reverse Headstock Stratocaster 2014 (present) The Fender Custom Shop White Stratocaster with reverse headstock á la Hendrix debuted on the Beck / ZZ Top tour in 2014. The reverse headstock affects how the tension increases as player bend the string. The more non-vibrating length a string has, the less effect on pitch a given deflection along a fret gives. So a reverse neck will give considerable bends on the high E and B strings, compared to a typical Stratocaster.

Hey, Brewmaster, always good to see an interview with the real Jeff Beck, talking about his guitars.
I mean, Christopher "Mine Goes to Eleven" Guest is entertaining with Rob Reiner and all that, but...
But you posted an interview with the real Jeff Beck.

Amazing; although I suspect that some Chinese guitars are actually cardboard!

Amazing; although I suspect that some Chinese guitars are actually cardboard! Probably the box that they are shipped in, is of more value on some of them.

Interesting that people don't know what an "electric guitar" is, or what makes it electric, or what the electricity does.
Oh, Rocky, I have a Chinese-made electric guitar, a Squier Affinity Strat. Paid $169.95 plus tax 19 years ago. It had a lot of bang for the buck, if you could quantify bang. Much of that is for so little buck. But it actually plays well and sounds good through my amp that has a tube in the pre-amp section.
Squier is made by Fender; they just left off the "ocaster" part of the name.

Does your Affinity have a maple or rosewood neck? Mine has a rare maple neck. I'm doing a replica of Jimi's 'Black Beauty' with it.

Rocky, it has a rosewood fretboard. I know that maple is considered cooler by guitarists, but I think that's because they want to cut through the mix, and maple does just that. But I think it is easier to make rosewood "cry or sing."

A guy who worked in a British musical instrument store related that even in the Sixties, lads would buy a solid guitar, not realising they needed an amp as well. There are even cases of guys trying to insert the jackplug into the wall electricity socket!

Yes I read stories like that brew. lol I think it was either Paul or George that hooked up his electric to his families radio speaker because he didn't have an amp yet. lol

But I think it is easier to make rosewood "cry or sing." Jimi liked rosewood for his studio guitars, but while on stage he perferred maple. Thought it gave him a cleaner look on stage. Plus fans got to see his fingers better working the fretboard.
