Sad to hear that our greatest comedian has passed away. Sir Ken appeared on a show with the Beatles in the early days, and also appeared with them on TV:
Ken also had a great voice, and his single "Tears" was the best selling record of 1965.
Here's some more of his humour....

Yes sad news, He was famous amongst other things for having long shows, some would not finish until after 12 midnight. Someone tweeted his funeral would take place on Wednesday, Thursday Friday and probably Saturday. One of the last Vaudeville entertainers and a prolific reader of comedy.

Wasn't he the third biggest singles artist in the 1960's in the UK. BBC 6 music did a little piece which shows the influence he had.

I have vague memories of Ken Dodd selling household goods door-to-door from a van. I was just a baby, but can remember my Gran always buying something. Later, I saw his show several times, and always laughed and laughed. As mentioned, his shows lasted hours! A great entertainer, who will be missed. [Ken's statue in Lime Street]
