Beatles Survivor - Round 4: A Hard Day's Night

Hello, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to Beatles Survivor!

In this game, we are going to be determining the greatest Beatles song of all time. Let me repeat that, the greatest Beatles song of all time. This game is based on the show Survivor, so what you do is vote for the song you like least to make it exit the survivor. The poll will change every few days, so be sure to vote when you can.

Here's a brief explanation on how this game will be played: we'll start out with a group of songs, in this case, all of the songs on Please Please Me. Once 10 songs remain, With The Beatles will join, and once it's been whittled down to 10 songs again, A Hard Day's Night, and so forth. Once all of the albums have been entered (Past Masters will be the final album in the game, I'm excluding the Anthologies and such and only focusing on studio albums and songs), then we'll end up with our finals and have a clear Top 10.

Firstly though, so as to keep weirdness away, I think it would be a good idea to vote on the songs that have two originally released recordings - namely, Love Me Do (single VS album version), Get Back (single VS album version), Across the Universe ("Wildlife" VS album version), and Let It Be (single VS album version).

This means you have four votes, each to be dealt out to one version of the song you dislike. And yes, I'm keeping the German Beatles songs because reasons.

So anyways, vote in the poll above so we can weed those out and begin The Beatles Survivor!

(For anyone wondering, I will be voting for the album versions of all of the songs because I like the single versions better, and Across the Universe is a lot more sonically pleasing with the wildlife sounds.)

Hello D.T. - Best of luck with this. I've found that, on this forum, polls, let alone games tend not to be very well subscribed to, for whatever reason(s). If you receive votes from 6 or 7 board members, you'll have done well, and lets be honest, it'll not be enough for an overall general 'reflection' of what you're trying to achieve. You've obviously put a lot of work into this. Well done for that.

Thanks for the support! Your post is exactly what I was afraid of, but hey, it's all cool. There've been four voters so far, which is fairly decent all things considering - this forum seems to have become less active since last I logged on. But oh well. As for it not being accurate, I agree with you, but it's really only intended for fun. But thanks man!

Well I voted. "All I've Got to Do" and "Devil in Her Heart." I didn't see fit to eliminate any others. My least favorite of the songs listed was already eliminated, and that was "Not a Second Time."

I can't believe I just participated in negativity, but in theory it should be easy to eliminate earlier stuff, since their albums kept getting better and better with each new release. Hey, I'm a geezer and I was a teenager (and older) when the album were released. I remember them when they were new.

Just a heads up, if someone has already voted for a song you want to see eliminated, it's a good idea to vote for it too, because you never can tell. Still, this round is getting more votes so that's coolio!

I think there were something like 307 Beatle songs.
In the end you will have the Ten favorite songs which could make up our Greatest Hits Lp.

Correct; as to rounds, it all depends - as many as it takes until we've gone through all original studio albums + singles and EP cuts (Past Masters).

I think it's slightly more than 200 actually but I don't remember.

In the end you will have the Ten favorite songs which could make up our Greatest Hits Lp.
I would also like to know what our Top Ten worst songs would be.

That's the one problem with this - since songs are getting eliminated there's no way to really tell what's the worst. That said, maybe after this we could have a "Backwards Survivor" - where we vote for our favorites until our least favorites remain.
