Hi Everyone! Well, the time is almost upon us - the last Beatle Week in its current format... and we don't yet know what next year will bring! Could this be the last forum meet up? I don't know, I hope not! Setting next year aside, it's time to focus on this year's festival! So if any forum members are planning on travelling to Liverpool over the August bank holiday, please do drop into The Grapes, in Mathew Street at midday on Saturday 26 August and say "hi" to the oldest Beatle Weekers on planet earth (you know who you are!) This has been really successful over the years and it's a great way meet like-minded people from across the world and of course make new friends that you will more than likely keep bumping into over the course of the week... whether you want to or not! Just kidding but not really! So here are the all-important details again in case you don't fancy re-reading this message!: Meet on Saturday 26 August at 12:00 midday in The Grapes, Mathew Street, then at around 1pm (ish), move onto either The Cavern Club or Cavern Pub (depending who's playing)! If you would like my mobile number, do please feel free to PM me. Really looking forward to seeing you all there again this year! AL

AL I don't know if you still frequent this Forum Al - after all, it's yours! Where are you? Are you still alive? I was disappointed with the Beatle Week fiasco. I felt sorry for Mr Kite after agreeing to have a second meet up on Sunday and no-one turned up. And where are the reviews of those Forum members (and I include you in this Al) of the 'Beatle Week' experience? Even if it was a bit of a damp squib, it would have been nice to hear from those people who were there? What's happening next year - is it gradually winding down? I'm interested because I'm thinking about going next year. I've seen videos from previous years and it looked really lively and the bands looked good too. So what happened - or didn't happen - this year? Al?

To be fair I did get a text off Al and Mr Musty They were in the Adelphi Hotel which meant I`d have to fork out £15 for just a few hours and my mate who was with me was`nt going to do that either . It seems to be at a low ebb on this Forum at the moment Which is sad as there are some really top people on here and I should know as I`ve meant a fair few over the years And we`ve had some great debates ! It seems that Facebook and Tweeter are the new social interaction media these days But there are a still a few of us left and the place is ours !!! If you do get to Liverpool next year F.T. and you fancy a pint , I`ll will be there as usual , God willing

Well Al, it's been a week now since I posted and asked you a couple of things about this year's Beatle Week. Mr. Kite kindly replied although he was very limited because he didn't stay in Liverpool very long - a day or two? I've had no response from yourself nor indeed anyone, other than Mr. Kite about the Beatle Week. I would have thought that a few other members of this Forum were in Liverpool this year and I'm really interested, not having been to a Beatle Week as I'm considering going next year. There seems to be an apathy or a reluctance from people to share their experiences? I suspect you're a busy man Al and I don't know how often you frequent your Forum but, hey, never mind, I'll trawl the internet for what I'm after. I'm sure that there are lots of other Forums and websites out there where I can find out about this year's Beatle Week.

I've never been to Beatleweek either , to be honest with travel and accommodation along with lots of goodies to buy plus entertainment for me it would be prohibitively expensive, shame as i'm sure i'd love the whole experience. I've noticed generally that this forum has gone very quiet but it's not alone, the same thing is happening on the Kate Bush forum i'm on and i'm sure other music based forums are having the same issue.

I live in Liverpool, and would be glad to meet up with forum members, only not in a pub. Regarding the forum becoming moribund, this is, unfortunately, the trend. I am on a couple of other [non-music] fora, and they are also somewhat stagnant. As has been pointed out, the massive popularity of other social media platforms, such as Facebook, have switched discussion away from a forum as the choice. Personally, I will never join Facebook, as the founder, Zuckenberg thinks members are idiots

I'm sure that there are lots of other Forums and websites out there where I can find out about this year's Beatle Week. Hi Fiendish Thingy ! Firstly, apologies for not replying sooner - I honestly didn't see your posts, which is entirely my own fault because, as you rightly pointed out, I don't get to post here very much anymore. I do sign in as much as I can but yes, it is infrequently these days - I used to read and post during my lunch breaks but (and whenever I was bored!) but since they blocked the site where I work, it's difficult to post plus the Proboards App no longer works on the iPhone, and I'm so busy most evenings these days. I sign in when I can to check notifications and to make sure nothing is wrong with the Board but if you want to highlight a particular post to me or any other members, what you can do is tag people by adding an "@" before their user name - or send me a PM. Anyway, enough lame excuses! It's time for some more! Although quite a few of our mutual friends sadly couldn't make it to Beatle Week this year, the Forum meet up actually wasn't a damp squib, There were 5 of us I think! Afterwards, we had one of the best afternoons ever, in my opinion, when we went to St Peter's Church to celebrate the day John met Paul! Mr Kite , apologies are long overdue - I actually thought I had posted a "sorry" here already but I was mistaken! The idea was to have Forum 2 meets, one on the Saturday in the Grapes and the other on the Sunday at the Convention - but totally understand the entry fee is a bit pricey especially if you're not planning on staying into the evening. But you were missed dude! Luckily, Beatle Week prevails, so we'll be doing it all again next year! Getting back to Beatle Week - it is very much alive, and as I intimated, this year was one of the best ever! Please do come next year - you will not be disappointed and we are definitely a lot more present in the real world than we may be here.. despite the Alan is Dead rumours! LOL! So.... please ask away, what would you like to know about Beatle Week? In the meantime, I have uploaded a few pics to give you a flavour of what Beatle Week is like for me as means different things to everyone - for me it's about music and friends... and some booze! All the best, AL imgur.com/a/mADk3
