Ok Macca fans, Paul M and Wings have released 9 albums as a group between 1971-1980. What is your favourite, and why? You can select any 2.
My favourite has always been Band On The Run, because it's produced 2 of my all time favourites - "Jet" and the title track. Plus, I also like the Wings Greatest compilation, because of its previous singles releases.

Well Band On The Run without a doubt. Every track is great with Nineteen Hundred And Eighty Five being my personal favourite. I also really like Back To The Egg for it's sheer diversity. A much underrated album in my view. Musically my favourite is Old Siam Sir. The lyrics are crap but the vocal I really like. The guitars on this track really rock and sound genuine. It's a shame McCartney didn't do more work with Laurence Juber. I also like Wildlife especially the track Tomorrow.
The problem is choosing the second album as none of the 9 albums have the consistency of Band On The Run but they all have great tracks on them.

Where's Ram? That's my favourite!
Band On The Run is a given, but out of the rest it would be a toss up between London Town and Venus and Mars.

Where's Ram? That's my favourite! "Ram" was credited as Paul's 2nd solo album, after his successfull debut, "McCartney" in 1970. So it wasn't officially recognised as a Wings album. Recorded in early 1971, and featured Paul, Linda, with a couple of session guitarists, plus drummer Denny Seiwell, who was to join the original Wings lineup that year. It was released just prior to recording of the debut Wings album, "Wild Life" later that year.

My favorite of the choices is ''Wings Over America''....
but, as far as the studio albums go - ''Band On The Run''...so, that gets my vote here.
Second favorite Wings album would be ''Venus And Mars'', followed by ''Wings At The Speed Of Sound''

"Band On the Run" is my favorite. There isn't a bum track on it, with "Let Me Roll It" and "Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five" being my favorites. But all the other albums have great tracks. "Back to the Egg" has some great stuff like "Getting Closer", "My Baby's Request" and "Spin It On". I think that "Speed of Sound" is pretty weak but it has one of Paulie's all-time best (Beware My Love). But "BOTR" is certainly his most consistent.

I have a few favourite Macca/Wings albums, of course Band on The Run and Ram are amongst them, but my all time favourite is 1978's London Town. Especially the long version of With A Little Luck is great, I love Deliver Your Children, Famous Groupies, Café on the Left Bank, the titelsong.... really about every song on this album I like, and most important; the great spirit I feel when I play this album... it's so fu**in' great, even after all those years!

London Town is one of my favs too - maybe his last great album? Or is that a little too contentious!?

Well... Band On The Run of course . And I have gone for Red Rose Speedway instead of Wings Over America as its not really fair as its a live album . I bought Red Rose and Ram with all my spends when I went on my holidays to Blackpool in 1974 . No donkey rides for me that week

My top favorite Wings album is definitely "Back To The Egg". It has so many great songs, "Arrow Though Me", "Old Siam Sir", and "Baby's Request" being my top favorites. Second choice was tough, it really is a tie between London Town, Band On The Run, and Red Rose Speedway... but I went with London Town, because its just such a fun album.
