One of John's closest early friends passed away yesterday, March 24th, at age 75. R I P (1941-2017) He was one of the original Quarrymen in 1957. To John's left with the blond curly hair. In the photo from L to R: Eric Griffiths, Colin Hanton, Rod Davies, John Lennon, Peter Shotton, Len Garry. (+little boy and face of little girl, spectators.)

Thought I would put this video up in memory of Pete, John and Eric. Rod, Len and Colin are still with us from The Quarrymen and play together on occasion. This year will be the 60th anniversary of the St. Peters Fete. And on this spot, where that tiny tree is, 60 years ago it all happened.........

Sad news indeed, i'm slowly working my way through Mark Leishon's epic book, (i've reached 1957 and the pace is quickening now) I think if i remember correctly Pete Shotton was one of the few who didn't want to be interviewed by Mar Lewishon for the book as he's released his own book, The Beatles Lennon and me. I enjoyed your little video of where the Quarrymen actually played, there's something almost spiritual about all the places touched by the Beatles.
