Interesting thing you have going on. Considering that it just celebrated it's 35th anniversary, maybe you should give Maiden's The Number of the Beast a listen soon - I did!

Dazzle Ships by OMD is also missing from the list a truly bonkers masterpiece after their pop outing. Talk Talk went esoteric as well. Talk Talk , The Colour of Spring and The Spirit of Eden are two masterpieces. I remember when they came out they were lumped in with New Romantics, but The Colour of Spring showed they were rock hippies. Unfortunately these two highlighted albums are one of the plethora of reasons i'm still smoking "jazz cigarettes", some albums compel you to smoke to them.(why is there no smoking icon here) to enhance that listening experience.

How about.
Depeche Mode. A Broken Frame / Music for the Masses or Violator. Throbbing Gristle - 20 Jazz Funk Greats. (possibly recommended this before) Sun Ra - Space is the Place. Captain Beefheart - Trout Mask Replica Paddy Macaloon - Trawling the Megahertz.

I don't see most of that making Kite's playlist. I'm not sure what to recommend. For me, I love Dazzle Ships. And Talk Talk's about face with Spirit Of Eden. Maybe that one would be compatible with Mr Kite. But certain substances should not be mixed lest they explode and destroy the universe. Or worse, he says he don't dig it!
In addition, I really like Beefheart's album and Wild Man Fisher. They're worth experiencing once but they're hard to enjoy per se in a casual way. I DO have 'The Taster' on my car mp3 playlist because it is too cool.

Thanks for all your time and recommendations I have to agree with Amadeus though Potos as I`m not very keen on 80`s stuff But I will be willing to try anything as they is plenty of time to go off track with a few albums for sure I have been struggling with my exercise as I`ve been here there and everywhere but the Easter bunnie is here and I get 4 days to catch up ! But I have a few bagged The Band - The Band This album was a struggle as I think as the band as the same as The Faces A band that just happen to have pure luck to have the pleasure to play with to great front men Anyway , I was`nt really bowled over maybe to tracks that had me sit up and listen But as much this album has had it`s pladits , it`s not my kinda "Genre " Robbie Robertson - Robbie RobertsonY`know this fella ? Yes, the fella from The Band What an album Yes, it`s one that got me through the 80`s With Peter ( Godlike ) Gabriel , U2 and Tony Levin on board and at he peak Daniel Lanois as joint producer you were on a winner The stand out track that made me go out and buy this was the fantastic Somewhere Down The Crazy River 294 293

Nice to hear you listened to the album; out of curiosity, which songs did you like best? I guess Run To The Hills and the title track Did like The Prisoner , you can`t go wrong with McGoohan Sorry about the delay I`m such a busy boy these days , but still manage to carry on.. Start with a treat I gave myself ( I deserve it ! ) Getting Ready - Freddie KingWonderful Blues album that just is pure Blues from someone who seems to not get enough credit for me Going Down is the track ! Just treat yourself ...And turn it up !! Alice`s Restaurant - Arlo Guthrie I had this album for ever it seems and I remember when I first got it back in the 70`s how bad the second side was . Well It`s still bad . Sounds like he`s just listened to that new fab band called Lovin Spoonful and ripped them off ! Really poor thank God they are short The track ! Wonderful , and if you have seen the film , even better Loved the film , so much I wanted to be in a commune and get drafted and shout Kill ! Kill !! kill !!! Killll ! Y`know what I mean ? Maybe not . Anyway , next up For Girls Who Grow Plump In The Night - Caravan It has a few great tracks and the best is saved for the last Prog as Prog can be Not really turned me into a Caravan fan just yet More plays needed I think . Electric Light Orchestra - Electric Light Orchestra Love this band but not their first outing , so you can guess I hav`nt played this much The first album Apart from 10538 Overture and Mr Radio the rest of the tracks are a bit below average Hard to believe this came out in the ultimate year of Rock 1971 Hard to believe they got another shot at a second album Thank God they did . Every Picture Tells A Story - Rod Stewart Grew up with Rod and Motown in the house when I was a wee lad Hard to not love this album when that was the staple Record diet at an early age Is this album any good then ? It`s bloody brilliant Stand out track Mandolin Wind , a masterpiece IBM, 1401 a Users Manual - Johann Johannssson Bloody loved this n all ! Suggested by Amadeus I am now a fan . And Amadeus is not bad either 291 290 289 288 287 286

Tried a few Solo Artists this week
Joe Cocker - Joe Cocker
Lots of covers on this , in fact 90 % It was an ok album , but I think it will be a long time before I try Joe again
Sweet Baby James - James Taylor
A nice album and I have heard it before and I guess that helped Has a few stand out tracks , but never in the same league as other singer song writers I`d like to go on about , but I wont
The Pretender - Jackson Browne
Again a nice album , but just did`nt really have me wanting more from the fella
Highway - Free
I love Free , but this album is`nt one of my most played by them and when I think back It`s not had much play from yours truly
As I thought , it`s not up there with all the other albums , but still has some great tracks The Stealer and Ride On A Pony to name two
No Mean City - Nazareth
Saw this tour back in 79 So of course I bought the album , but not the T Shirt I did like a few tracks back then But today ! I like a few tracks Claim To Fame is a cracker though , simplistic but Rocks man !

Ambitious project Mr Kite. I hope you fulfil your quest. Out of curiosity, you obviously have a lot of albums in your personal collection that you're revisiting but when people recommend an album to listen to (e.g. IBM, 1401 a Users Manual - Johann Johannsson or Throbbing Gristle - 20 Jazz Funk Greats.), where do you actually obtain the albums from seeing as you're listening to them in their entirety without skipping any tracks? Just a thought Keep on keeping on!

Good question I do have a very large collection indeed But the best way to go mental is type in Full albums , Rock , Folk , etc etc etc on You Tube It`s amazing what you can find on there , in fact there`s everything ! I`m not doing throbbing gristle , no way ! Thanks for the encouragement my friend ! I have had a hell of busy few weeks ( Gigs n Footy ) , I will catch up soon as ! Johann Now playing !

Cheers for that Mr Kite. If I could recommend one album that should allow you to just sit back and listen rather than analyse (until you get to the end of course for the purpose of your 'project') it's Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young - 'Deja Vu'.
