I see in 2013 there was a thread about Take 1 which is on the Anthology set, so perhaps some might not have heard Take 2.

Fantastic. This was probably the version George wanted...sitar, sitar and more sitar

To think they were pushing musical boundaries that early on in their recording career.

To think they were pushing musical boundaries that early on in their recording career. Ya, I think Rubber Soul is one of the most important albums in their discography. It sowed the seeds of experimentation that yielded the absolute jaw dropping masterpieces of the 2nd half of their career. Up to Rubber Soul, the Beatles music was infectious fun that had made the whole world smile and feel glad. After, it turned the world upside down and became music and lyrics to be not only enjoyed, but studied and analyzed.

And to think it was rushed and last minute. Apparently October 1965 rolled around and all of a southern they realised they hadn't considered they needed a new album for Christmas.
