Interesting that in the early days of the split, it was Linda, not Yoko, blamed for breaking up the Beatles. But I don't remember Linda being so blamed here in the US.

That was fascinating. Got the impression that all the wives girlfriends were viewed poorly at the time. Must have been miserable. Fans must have know at that point it was the end.

It was interesting to see that Derek Taylor was holding out hope that the Paul would return and the Beatles would reunite. I don't remember ever seeing that interview (in Mr. Mustard's link).
The news we got in the US was that the Beatles had broken up, as declared by Paul, and that none of the other 3 denied it, or stated that they would carry on as a trio with or without Klaus Voorman as a hired-gun bassist. They had, unfortunately for the fans, run their course.

You should. They give a really good insight into what being a Beatle wife was like back then. Not exactly all a bed of roses.
