Good find, Den I have versions of "Sympathy" by GnR, Motorhead, as well as the Stones, and I hate to admit that the Stones' version is the best.

Thanks. I love all of Beggars Banquet but Sympathy is just iconic. Any version without Mick's vocal swagger and Keith's stinging guitar solo just comes up short for me and sounds "wrong"

Good bassline too.
I was watching "Skip Trace" last night, and was delighted find Jackie Chan singing this:

The movie "The Lost Boys" is a cult classic, with numerous great tunes on the soundtrack. Here's a couple:

One of the biggest ever songs used in a film was, of course, this Bryan Adams number...
Funny story; a couple were planning their wedding and asked the church to play the song from "Robin Hood" The church staff were obviously not clued up on modern culture, and the bride walked down the aisle to this....
Beatles trivia. The singer on that old TV theme was Dick James.

The Scandinavians have given us some of the best drama series in recent times. "The Bridge" had a very atmospheric use of music:

Another terrific Scandi-noir series, which was the one that got me hooked on the genre. This was remade for US TV, but never matched the original. However, the US version of "The Bridge" was as good as the original

Earlier we discussed a couple of songs we hated. This is high on my list of songs I can't stand [in a movie that represents the worst of Sixties pop culture]

One of the first, and most significant, uses of a mainstream pop hit in an advert, was this:
