From an earlier picture on this thread, I'm trying to find out who's guitar this is? I believe it's a 1950's D'Angelico Excel and George didn't own one and the one Clapton had was older with a different tailpiece. They are quite expensive now. I guess the search goes on......

Regarding the D'Angelico archtop, did Patty ever actually learn to play guitar? If so, with George or with Eric? And if with George, what if she had been like Linda and Yoko and performed on stage with her ex-Beatle husband?
More alternative universe speculation.
It is said that George actually lost interest in his wife and let Eric have her. Did Patty learn guitar because George was more interest in his guitar-associated work than in his marriage?
Maybe I should just read her book.

Well I did find out that Stephen Bishop took the picture in 1977 so it may have been his guitar. That is a good idea, I may have to buy her book too.

Say what you want about Pattie, but she has never stooped to taking all her clothes off like most of the 'stars' back then or now. These are the most reviling pictures I could find of her.

In this article Pattie replies to Rae Ellen Itiecsorek that she can't play guitar. But this was way back in '65/66 so she might have learned since then.

Started reading Pattie's book 'Wonderful tonight'. Got up to the part where they just bought their house Friar Park for $140k pds. from some nuns. Pattie's the one that found it since George was too busy. When he finally went to see it with her he loved it, but the house was in shambles and they had no heat so George had to throw logs in the big fireplace every night and they had to wear jackets and coats at night time until the house finally got fixed. Pattie said it was the coldest she had ever been in her life! Then it seems George just got bored with Pattie and they never slept together. When Pattie would go to bed George would head down to his recording studio and work all night and when Pattie would get up George would go to bed. Friar Park..
