One of the strangest yet interesting songs I've ever heard is "B-Side To Seaside". Any one else agree?

How about the time sweet little Jimmy McCulloch wanted to kill Paul, and actually got a gun to do it, but chickened out at the last moment.

That's one of the stories I question. Who told him that? How did he verify that for the book.

Unfortunately there are about 3-4 Linda McCartney songs on YouTube that should have been buried. Seaside Woman is a nice song though!

Wings Wild LifeThe first Wings album as we all know . I like it , at the time of buying it I liked it a lot I read way back that Macca heard of Dylan doing an album in a week , so he took it on to try and do the same I gave it a serious listen last night to give my real opinion on it. It's not a good album to have as a debut. Truthfully, it's an album somewhere in the middle of someone's peak. But then I though, what makes it a bit off? I realised that the sequencing is wrong. Not drastically. MUMBO and BIP BOP should have been the side two openers. Exchange the 1st two songs on side one for the 1st two songs on side two to open. Arp

Arp I can see why people may not like the album , but as I say I heard it at a very young age and I had no "criticism " of anything I was listening to at that time of McCartney`s I even liked London Town . If I listen to London Town now I see it`s "faults " But with Wild Life I see it for what it is . Meaning it is a "two fingers to anyone who want`s a go at me" album You have say in hindsight it was a brave move from McCartney to release such a "rough" album I love it for it`s almost live feel about it and I have to say it`s a lot better than Macca`s last few albums by far . * Start`s putting up the sandbags and donning tin helmet *

Oh boy. Them's contentious words.
Actually one of my favorite songs is MUMBO. I was wondering how it would be viewed if the 6 or 7 Wings albums were isolated from the rest of Macca's catalogue, how it would flow?
Anyhow, I gave Redrose Speedway i listen for the first time in a long time. It's better than I remember it, maybe because I knew not to expect Band On The Run this time around. The end medley sounds a bit forced together when compared to the Abbey Road Medley. AND a very strange album package. The front and back are normal then when you get inside and look at the booklet,,,,,psych!

Ah yes Red Rose ! I must do a top notch review next up and have all the Press people ringing me up for top notch reviews on other stuff like ... It is a bit of a double date album for me as I bought it on the same day as Ram ( for I have told the tale many a time I wont go on and on about it ) and Ram was a bit of a brilliant album Red Rose got left behind . As a 13 year old the inside booklet was one I had to hide from me Ma as it had naked ladies in it ! Did you know that the braile on the back cover say`s" We Love You " It was a tribute to Stevie Wonder . Here is my 79 UK Tour Program and scarf and my official Wings Fan club badge and the Rock Show badge No , I don`t really know why I bought the scarf either .

That's some nice stuff.
No what I meant was, if you forget everything you know about Macca and just look at the Wings albums, How do they stand up as a body of work?

That is some nice stuff Mr Kite. If I had to be critical about Maccas LPs, I really only like “Ram", "Band On The Run", “Venus And Mars” & Wings At The Speed Of Sound”, and “Red Rose Speedway” somewhat. After that I only like about 2 songs per album. But, if you were to include all the singles and unreleased songs, you quickly realize, the man is still a music genius. How about "Percy Thrillington”. Anyone recognize this name?

Yes Bongo, Thrillington is very well known and discussed on this Forum . I see . We`ll I have to say and I know I have a bit of a biased opinion when it comes to Wings but I think all the Wings albums are just as good as his post Wings albums . Just take Band On The Run Has he ever got even close to this masterpiece ?, will he ever ? Nope . I went through the 80`s with Macca and as much as I flew the flag , I really did not love the albums , maybe an odd song here and there . McCartney II was as I just hoped was a blip , but we got Pipes and Tug Of War .. Give My Regards had the fab No More Lonely Nights and the Beatle Redo`s but after that ? When the awful 80`s was ending Macca seemed to have seen the light and came up with I consider his best Solo album Flowers In The Dirt . So yes for me the Wings albums are the best of Macca for me London Town has a nice feel to it !

I can help . It was`nt recorded during Wings time , so it`s not a Wings related album even though it was finally released in 1977 . It was Orchestrated by Richard Hewson at the time of the Ram recording It`s like for like of the the Ram album without vocals (for it`s Orchestral) and Produced by Paul McCartney . The reverse of the sleeve has a reflection of a man in the control booth who just happens to look like McCartney And it`s very good ! And here is my precious copy I got in 1980 from a record collectors shop , and it was`nt cheap!
