Terribly sad news about "The Queen of Rock & Roll". I remember hearing River Deep on the radio when it was released. I loved it then, and love it now. Tina provided the soundtrack for our lives all these years. Her own life was tragic, and she was a classy lady. RIP I too missed hearing about Kingsize Taylor. I saw him back in the day. Great performer. RIP.

Actually if it wasn't for Taylor and his tape machine there would be no Hamburg Tape of the Beatles in 1962! And having been lost and then found again by him ten years later, after they were recorded, in a dusty old building in a pile of rubbage is still another story in itself! So here is the full true story of Taylor and his Beatle Hamburg recordings.
* a little shout out to: Andrew at Parlogram for this video.

Wow just seen this and am saddened at the passing of Tina Turner. She somehow seemed indestructable and possessed one hell of a voice. I remember her comback on The Tube pop show and her work with Heaven 17 / The Brittish Electric Foundation. So sad that she has gone.
R.I.P Dear Lady.
