So sad to read of the passing of Dean Stockwell of Quantum Leap and so many films (such as the Boy With Green Hair ) that I adore. Just read he took the photograph (gifted photgrapher apparently) of the artist Wallace Berman that was on the Seargent Pepper LP. RIP Mr Stockwell I enjoyed so much of your work.

I am devasted to read of the passing of Mike Nesmith. I spent so many hours as a kid watching The Monkees and even now I still love their music.
This is an amazing track and one of my all time favourites. RIP Mike. Will always have fond memories of you and that bobble hat.

Forum Question: Who was your favorite Monkee?
A) Micky Dolenz (3-08-1945)
B) Davy Jones (12-30-1945 2-29-2012)
C) Michael Nesmith (12-30-1942 12-10-2021)
D) Peter Tork (2-13-1942 2-21-2019)
I always liked Peter Tork the best.
*notice Michael & Davy had the same birthday. Also Peter died 8 days after his birthday, and Davy 8 days after that, then Micky's birthday is 8 days after that, and to keep it going my birthday is 8 days after that on the 16th!!)

Davy Jones , I grew up with all the chat of him being a Mancuian . Did you that David Bowie had to change his stage name because of him? David Bowie's real name is Davy Jones. Also Davy Jones was one of the performers on the Ed Sullivan show the night the Beatles were on!!

I knew David Bowie had to change his name because of The Monkees Davy Jones. I knew Jones was on the Ed Sullivan show the night The Beatles debued. I also know he was in Coranation Street as Ena Sharples grandson called Colin Lomax and Peter Noone was Len Faircloughs nephew I think callede Stanley.
My Fave Monkee as kid was Davy but I adored Mickey. As I have aged Michael and Peter were dear to me . Still adore Rio all these years on.

Watching that clip and seeing all the old characters was a joy, The Barlows, Minnie Caldwell, Annie and Jack Walker, The Tanners, Florrie at the shop, and Emily Bishop. To think it is still going 60 years on. Strange to think it was a pre Beatles world.

1961 that's when most all the British rock stars were just starting up and picking up guitars for the first time.

So sad to read of the passing of Janioce Long the DJ. I used to listen to her a lot when she had the evening show on Radio 1. Many happy memories of her and John Walters discussing the music magazines on a Thursday.
