To kick off my 'Bluemeaniepauls Merseybeat Beat' section here on the forum, I'd thought I'd start with something that might appeal to all you romantics out there...
Last Friday I decided to pay a visit to the Cavern as it'd been a few weeks since I'd been and I was starting to get a bit cranky.
I don't live a million miles away from the place so am able to pop in almost anytime I want. I'd kind of left it for a while because, well, it's on my doorstep and it's not going anywhere, you could almost say I take it for granted, and thinking about it I probably do. So it was refreshing for me to see a couple in there on Friday who made me realise just how much of a special place it is and how much it means to a lot of people.
Yes we all know it's not the original Cavern, but I don't think that detracts from the amazing feeling that Beatle fans the world over experience when they begin that magical descent down its steps.
The couple in the pictures were newlyweds Hannah and Paul who were married that very afternoon and were spending part of their special day down in the Cavern. Paul, from South Wales and Hannah from St Helens seemed to be having a great time and came to Liverpool because it was the city where they'd been on most of their dates. Just before I took their picture and gave them a Beatle forum Business card (of course!), they'd danced to a specially requested version of 'All You Need Is Love' performed by the guy on the stage and most of the audience too.
On behalf of the forum I'd like to wish Hannah and Paul all the best for their future and hope to see them in the Cavern again sometime soon, best wishes!!!
