Whitesnakes 1980 album Ready And Willing is a brilliant album and there's some great tracks on Come And Get It too. I suggest you at least give Ready and Willing a listen Amadeus. They where a great band until Coverdale sacked everyone and went all American and dyed his hair. Any album featuring Moody, Mardsen, Murray and Lord should be given some serious airtime. Forget the later albums.

Don't laugh. I'm in a 80's cover band. We play stuff like Wham, Irene Cara, Spandau Ballet and Simple Minds. We have a gig twice a month and the reactions of the crowd are usually very very good. We realise that might be because everybody understands that it's an evening for a laugh, full of songs you don't really want to hear again. How are ya Bobber ? w I'm fine thanks. Lost some good friends in the past year, its been pretty hard. How is the Kite flying these days?

Well the 80's started out ok, a new Lennon album was anticipated, then that idiot shot Lennon and everything went downhill from that moment on for me music wise. R I P John.

I think music from this era is great, I love it all, but personally this one shouts 80s to me more than any other, it's a good tune, there's a classic car in it, it has break dancing.... and of course the gorgeous Christie Brinkley!!! My friends...what's not to like?
By the way, I don't expect any criticism for posting this as Mr Kite posted both a 'Wham' and 'Phil Collins' video, I thank you!

Ah but ! My posts are the negative type . Never liked Wham and the "Wake me up before you go go" really got on my nerves" .. A lot Don`t keep me hanging on like a Yo Yo ! And you know what ! Another show that made me want to blow up my T.V. and put AC/DC on Shit Man And Her . I used to get asked "Did you watch shit man and er last night ?" "Do I look like a pillock who puts make up on , hair gel and dance about like a ponce and drink wine and pretend to have left my Filofax at home as I could`nt carry it and my 12" Singles of Erasure around at the same time " "No I feckin did`nt mate ! " Pure Hell 80`s T V .

Nowadays to fill the void left by the 'Hitman and Her', I believe Pete Waterman watches and commentate's over CCTV footage from his local discotheque. But, should we feel sorry for him? After all he subjected us to this lot during the 80s

Mandy Smith . Oh yeh what a talent ? ... Well what a good way to further your career by marring very rich old rockers The 80`s eh .

Kate was also dragged into the wonderful 80`s fashion I'm not sure how you'd describe Kate's look but it suits her, then again she could probably make anything look good,.....apart from Phil Collins!!!

Well,,,, fine. Fine.
here's some more of MY '80's that never included tanktop Phil. There was SO much to choose from. So, from the dog end of the '80's, two brilliant bands.

Here's a thread to specifically discuss the good or bad of the '80's. I like a lot of '80's music although not generally the top 40. some favorite albums of mine: Tears For Fears - Songs From The Big Chair Joy Division - Substance Love & Rockets - Seventh Dream Of Teenage Heaven The Cure - The Head On The Door The Jesus & Mary Chain - Psycho-Candy Talking Heads - Remain In Light The Smiths - Strangeways Here We Come The Fall - Hex Enduction Hour Nick Cave - Tender Prey OMD - Dazzle Ships Sonic Youth - Bad Moon Rising Simple Minds - Sparkle In The Rain U2 - The Unforgettable Fire The Birthday Party/Lydia Lunch - Drunk On The Pope's Blood/The Agony Is The Ecstasy Echo & The Bunnymen - Porcupine XTC - English Settlement That's all for now. Wow, there are only 2 bands I like here: U2 and The Cure and only some of the songs from those LPs. Like Mr Kite said: Come on people, it was a dire decade!
