This is number nine on my list of venues played by the Beatles in Liverpool. I won't bother doing one on the Cavern it has been done plenty of other times. The Aintree Institute is located in Walton (northern Liverpool)and was founded in the 1890's. It became a venue for performing bands in the late 1950's and early '60's. The Beatles played there 31 times from Jan. 7th,1961 until Jan. 27th,1962, when there was a dispute between Brian Epstein and the promotor after he paid the Beatles 15pounds for their performance in loose change. Brian believed they had been disgraced as performers being paid like that and never had them booked there again. In 2007 the Aintree Institute was demolished, just another venue in Liverpool's long list that isn't there anymore.

What gets me is that in the centuries to come many will be staggered at how lax we were at saving the early rock n roll venues. Have they the same attitudes in the USA.

I've just checked, it does work but you'll just have to spin the street view thingy round until you see it.

I use to live literally up the road from the Aintree institute. The Beatles played there a lot.

The same mindless twits get their palms greased here too. They tore down the Civic Arena here. The Beatles played there in Sept.,1964. There was nothing wrong with it, put up a housing project, for people that have eight kids no husband and are on welfare.
