Just read a short piece that stated there was a massive bust up at Paul 21st and that John beat up some promoter. Was this true it sounds unlikelu to me.

He punched MC Bob Wooler, didn't he??? This is true. He beat him up pretty badly by all accounts and it actually made the press. Lennon sent a letter of apology to Bob Wooller. I know someone who claimed to be a friend of Bob Wooller and this letter was Bob's most treasured possession until the day he died. Wooller had accused Lennon of homosexual activity with Brian Epstein whilst the pair where on holiday together in Spain. Now there's a thread! Did John Lennon have it off with Brian Epstein whilst in Spain? Perhaps this should be a poll!!! My vote is, Lennon would try anything once!

So it is true. Wonder what Paul thought of it all. Wasn't there a movie about the trip to Spain. I think I was surprised by this story because I would have imagined Lennon coming back with some witty one liner rather than belting someone.

I have never heard Paul comment on it. Lennon was probably completely drunk. By all accounts he wasn't a big drinker that could take it well.

Wasn't there a movie about the trip to Spain. The Hours and Times (1991). David Angus as Brian, Ian Hart as Lennon.

Well it's a dot....and erm...'Dot' is short for 'Dorothy'....and....as we all know somebody referred to as a 'friend of Dorothy' is considered to be gay!!! Actually the dot was just a mistake, I tried to post a video but it didn't take, I'll try again in a mo!

I've seen that Rocky. I was actually referring to Paul commenting upon Lennon beating up Bob Wooler.

oops sorry mm please don't beat me with a stick! lol
And you're probably correct about John not being able to hold his liquor. Look at what he almost did to that photographer when he was out that night with Harry Nilsson at the Troubadour!
