I just read on another site that The "White Album" with the designation #00005 is up for sale starting at !,000,000,00 lbs! (What's that in U.S. $ ? ). Why is this Lp so rare? Is it because of the number or is it because it's Mono? It's for sale on Ebay. I'd have to win the lottery to get this!

My question is; What is one going to do with it? Have it to play? I think it sounds the same as all the other ones. Some people are reluctant to spend 2 million dollars on a house! let alone a record. I wouldn't want to own something like that because I'd be afraid of losing it or it getting ruined somehow or stolen. I'm happy with my #2000000.
Same with guitars. If I had a '62 Daphne Blue strat worth $27,000, I'd sell it and get a newer repro. at the same quality and play that. I won't be worried about getting it scratched or people thinking I'm nuts for bringing it out to actually play on!
I guess it matters to some people though.

This one must have belonged to one of the Beatles most intimate staffers because I read in Peter Brown's book that the first nine numbered copies were given to these people.Brown said he had number five or six or something.I can understand there being an excessive value to it,but two million seems a bit exorbitant. That sounds more like the price of an autograph.Or maybe the copy of "Double Fantasy" that John Lennon signed for his assassin just hours before his untimely death.
