I really want to get my hands on some of the recording sessions and the general banter between the band.
I have the John Lennon Anthology box set which has lots of John talking and the general chat that happens in the studio.
What is the best thing for me to get for The Beatles? I already have The Beatles Anthology Outtakes CD's which is great but i'd like more of the chat and banter that happens in the studio. Does anything like this exist?
Thanks

You would be looking for bootlegs of recording sessions. There is A LOT of them out there but they're getting harder to find on line because of the activities of the 'intellectual property monsters'. A lot of links are dead but from time to time new ones pop up for a little while and if you're lucky, you may catch them before they get taken down.
Just keep looking on a regular basis. Just google stuff like 'Please Please Me' recording sessions etc and look around.
Hope that helps.

I thoroughly enjoy all the outtakes that were made available on the "Anthology" sets.Particularly Volume two.To have an inside view of how the Beatles got things done in the studio was "certainly a thrill".I'm particularly fond of how Vol II begins with a virtual play-by-play outline of how "Strawberry Fields" came to be.But I guess in the final analysis, only the Fabs and their very inner circle were fully capable of truly understanding the magic they wove.I would LOVE to see all the miles and miles of "lost" video from the "Let It Be" sessions!

You might want to get the 2-disc version of Let It Be...Naked. The second disc, Fly On The Wall, has some of the stuff you're looking for. Otherwise, as Amadeus suggests, the boots are your best option. The most complete bootleg set I know of is The Beatles Ultimate Experience, a 9-disc CD-Rom set. It has all the band's original recordings, every boot these folks could find, and lots of pictures. It would probably be very expensive, but well worth every penny. And it has tons of the banter among the Beatles you're looking for.

check this outtake from the 1965 Rubber Soul sessions: it's priceless! I really liked that one swadders. Thanx for sharing that one! I also liked the one, I heard a long time ago, where John was recording one of his solo albums and his backup band to get in tune started playing a couple of Beatle songs and John came back with "that's enough boys". lol

ROCKY mentioned the out takes where Lennon tells his backing musicians "alright boys!!" when they start playing a Beatles song. If I'm right it's during the Double Fantasy sessions where, a clearly excited Earl Slick gets carried away and keeps playing the Shes A Woman solo at any given opportunity! Lennon eventually yells "STOP PLAYING THAT FUCKIN' THING!!! I'd love to find it again! Probably on one of the lost lennon tapes.

Found this one the other day. McCartney at his Hard Days Night best. Should have really been on anthology 1.

"...his backup band to get in tune started playing a couple of Beatle songs and John came back with 'that's enough boys'."
I wonder if the songs were McCartney songs. "Blackbird" certainly was. I'm just wondering if Lennon's snide remarks were directed toward just those songs written by Paul.
