What is the perfect couple? Arguments and disagreements are healthy for a relationship. Clearly they weren't the perfect. It's funny that John was closest to Julian when he was with May Pang I.e. away from Yoko. Then when he returned the relationship ended. According to all John's letters he really loved Cynthia like no man ever could yet he was having it off with as many women he could get his hands on throughout their relationship.
John and Yoko certainly had an odd relationship. Yoko clearly had a lot of control over John, emotionally as well as sometimes musically. However she still lives at the same apartment where her husband was assassinated 33 years later. Does that mean she doesn't care or she stays because its the place she feels closest to him?
It certainly wasn't a perfect relationship but there is no perfect relationship especially when you are John and Yoko.

Tough question . As Mr Musty said what is a perfect relationship . I guess that if John was`nt happy with Yoko I don`t think he would have stayed with her for so long , even after he went to L.A. with May Pang and lived a "Single life style " he still returned to Yoko , be it was Elton doing the match making . And having Sean with Yoko seemed to settle down John and I guess that was the happiest he had been in his life .
You just have to listen to the Interviews he did when he was promoting Double Fantasy . As for Yoko . She is a bit of an Inigma and I guess the only person who could answer the question is Yoko .

I know they loved each other, but i'm not so sure it was a healthy relationship for the most part. Yucko got him hooked on heroin, was controlling, had input in his musical decisions, arranged for John to cheat on their marriage with May Pang, alienated him even further from his first son, and had the balls to purposely sleep with John in his wifes bed only to have her and his young son walk in on them to break up his first marriage. I'm not sure a mentally stable person would have put up with her shit for so long. Just my opinion.

Mark Twain once said "If two people agree all the time, one of them is unnecessary."
Ever hear the expression "bicker like an old married couple?" People who have been married a long time do not give each other the silent treatment. There will be arguments and other disagreements. IMHO the silent treatment will destroy more marriages than arguing.
"I'm not sure a mentally stable person..." I don't think any mentally stable person could have been the songwriter John Lennon was. You think about John's father leaving the family to be a cook on a boat, John's mother palming John off to her sister Mary (Aunt Mimi) and Mary's husband George, then Uncle George dies... all that rejection.
You realize "Twist and Shout," "Dizzy Miss Lizzie," and "Slow Down" were actually proto-primal scream therapy.

"None written by John though ? "
Singing (screaming?) is therapeutic in and of itself.
John may have been singing "Shake it up baby, twist and shout" but he could have been thinking "Mother, you had me, but I never had you."

Do you think if John were alive today he would still be with Yoko? I believe so. Weather you like or hate her to me she was John's match, Yoko being older was almost like John's mother figure that he may have been searching for. I even heard him call her that on a few videos when they were talking together. But who knows off camera and in private they may have threw dishes at one another and enjoyed it. lol
