Everything about this picture cracks me up, from the poses and how they are looking off into the distance down to those leather pants and silly boots. Typical... Awkward?

Concerning how clear and pristine the re-mastering job was for the '09 re-releases and how all the reviews were saying stuff like, "it sounds like you're standing right next to John on Dear Prudence, it's so clear....." Just a bit of shameless self-promotion here, of the stuff I scribble out at "Music By Day". (see home page icon)... I apologise for the crass attempt at drumming up business for "Music By Day". It's not even my web site! I just post there as a hobby. But they DO like me there. I think it's my enticing personality, my sparkling wit, perhaps the way they poke me in the tummy to hear my girlish giggle... Wait a minute, it doesn't sound like they like me at all! sunuvabich

Aldershot, 1961 This is one great pic!! A) Shows what we all know, but sometimes I forget ... the Beatles had to slog through years of paying their dues. Not many folks at this dance! And not too "hip" I'd guess. And I'd also guess the dancers don't really care much who is singing lead or harmony, or that the band is developing their unique style of playing - doesn't look like the band is the center of attention at all ... "just play something so we can dance please"! Either way, a gig, and probably a paying one! B) They were onstage in an arrangement not so common in later years ... John in the middle, Paul on the left. I don't think it's a turned around negative, because they are all playing their guitars with the "correct" hand. Other photos taken that night.

Paul is dead 5 years before he "died".

I remember a lot of those pics. Was that one shot of Pete during his "Boys" spot?
It seems impossible that there are no recordings of these guys live until the Dec '62 Star Club tapes.

Decca audition tapes (recorded 1 January 1962) were before the Star Club recordings and are technically live (i.e. no overdubs) albeit with no audience.

Peeing? Hmmm... The location of the elbows, we can't see the forearms at all, so the arms have to be folded across the chest, no? Or I suppose they have VERY good aim.
The Aldershot photo is great indeed. Regarding the odd placement of John/Paul/George, it looks as though The spot where Paul is now (our right) does not have a mike. Two miles at this gig, perhaps they rotated all over the stage as need be depending on who was singing lead/backup?

Hi, I am new on forum. I created a spoof of an album cover and I wanted to share. Would that sort of thing fall under this thread or is there a more suitable place for that? I wanted to ask before I posted it.

Very cool but not possible as Presley had left the army in Germany by March 1960 a The Beatles didn't start their Hamburg stint until August of that year. Had The Beatles had been in Germany six months earlier then this may have been possible!
