Do any of you wise ones want to expound on his influence on George? Listening to Beatles on the BBC, one would think that George never heard any other guitarist play, he's little little boy Carl.
Since "that" sound was arguably a huge part of the Beatle's early sound, one could argue that Carl was as important as anyone in forming our boys!
P.S. I think George was very gracious (and starstruck!) in paying Carl back later in life, playing on his show or something or other ...

Absolutely no doubting Carl's influence and you're right, I think George was kinda star-struck and remained a huge fan all his life. When the Beatles went through a phase of using stage names, George used the name "Carl Harrison"!
Just listen to the guitar break in All My Loving for example - pure Carl Perkins.

Just to up Carl's profile as an influence and performer in his own right, this is wonderfully insightful as to how the Beatles themselves worked and on Carl's songwriting, especially in Part 2
Just such feelgood music. Any additional information to the actual session from '93 would be appreciated.
