Neil Young. If you take away the visual, it sounds as good as any of the country he did, like OLD WAYS or HARVEST MOON. But that's a first impression. I just listened to 'Time Fades Away' last night and it was a brilliant live album although I could understand why he won't release it on CD. When I bought Landing On Water in the 80`s I thought it was all over for me and Mr Young But his 90`s stuff blew me away . As for his Country stuff I have never got into that . I`m not a great lover of Country to start with and I just can not do a whole album (Unless it`s Maria Mckee) Trying to think which was the last Studio album I bought of Young`s and I think it`s Mirror ball ! His Archive stuff has been brilliant . Could Mr Young be one of the few artists that came out of the 60`s still producing albums of quality today ? For me if had never released an album after the 70`s and hung up his guitar I would still call him a legend .

If you got a blender threw in Bjork , Joanna Newsom and a Cranberrys album This is what would come out , topped with a nice umbrella and a sparkler

Hey Folkies ! I went to town today nice and early ,walked it as the Sun was shining, got to the train station . No Trains ! So they laid on a Bus ( For I`m a bit of devil and I know that there is no one to check tickets , free Bus !) Got into Town and set off to get the holiest grail of the holiest pair of Jeans 501`s (no holes in knees ) 40 % discount , yep I got them with 26 quid knocked off !!! What a day already ! Next thing I will be seeing a poster of a band I truly want to see live before I go to the great gig in the sky ! Goes in Piccadilly Records to see if they had any Nektar ( sadly not , good job really a bit short since new jeans bought ) Spot a poster on the wall of said shop . The Mountain Goats playing Manchester !!!!! Get home , get phone call , game on at the Pub , team wins and go top of the table . What a day !!! The Mountain Goats !!!!

Donovan was the man last night . So then here we go for my Folk list Again I have gone 1 per Artist . I have also had a bit of a problem as what is exactly a Folk song . Just acoustic songs ? But I think it be best just to go with what I think are my Fav`s in any shape or form , if you get my drift . (but tried to keep them minimal instruments) OK then . 1. Suite: Judy Blue Eyes - Crosby, Stills and Nash 2. American Pie - Don McLean 3. Fotheringay - Fairport Convention 4. Tangled Up In Blue - Bob Dylan 5. A Case Of You - Joni Mitchell 6. Mc Goohan`s Blues - Roy Harper 7. Heart Of Gold - Neil Young 8. My One True Love - Maria McKee 9. Some Say I Got Devil - Melanie 10. Dun Ringhill - Jethro Tull 11. Silver Dagger - Joan Baez 12. Samuel 15 23 - The Mountain Goats 13. Grantchester Meadows - Pink Floyd 14. So Long Frank Llyod Wright - Simon & Garfunkel 15. 1952 Black Lighting - Richard Thompson 16. Landslide - Fleetwood Mac 17. Universal Soldier - Donovan 18. That`s The Way - Led Zeppelin 19. Half A World Away - R.E.M. 20. A Horse With No Name - America 21. Storm Song - Smoke Fairies 22. Avenue Of Hope - I Am Kloot 23. Murdoch - Trees 24. Blackwaterside - Sandy Denny 25. My Lagan Love - Kate Bush I think that would be one hell of a play list .

Sometimes we are cynical and think they are just in it for the fame and money and have big egos This wonderful film shows that Joan Baez being honest and candid and really did believe that Music could change the world .

Love your number 1 choice Mr Kite. Personally I would have gone with Old Man or Don't Let It Bring You Down for my Neil Young choice but that's just me.

Love your number 1 choice Mr Kite. Personally I would have gone with Old Man or Don't Let It Bring You Down for my Neil Young choice but that's just me. That has got to be the toughest of them all for me . What really is a Folk song ? Just with Neil Young alone was a tough one . Is it folk ? , is it rock ? I think I need to do 100 and throw in as many as you want with one artist , that should do it . I think
