That's incredible Mr K. What a sublime songwriter and performer she is. Although most of her followers would cite 'Blue' as their favourite album, my personal favourite is 'The Hissing Of Summer Lawns'. There's a lovely little website HERE that's put some of her live performances together. I've just watched them all and it took me back to those days of innocence when I didn't have a care in the world. Pure escapism. Anyway, Mr K (and all you people who frequent this forum) here's a song from a great band called The Decemberists. Stick with it as it has a twist near the end. Enjoy - and why don't you good people let us know about about which folk singers and songs that you like? The Decemberists - The Mariners Revenge Song

Even better call Mr K. The Mountain Goats (to all intents and purposes John Darnielle). How have you just recently got into them?!! They've been out since 1995 and have been very prolific, releasing about 16 albums since then. They are a fine band and this is one of my all time favourite tracks. The video is quite bizarre. I could listen to them for hours!

I only have the Decemberist's The Crane Wife. I love that album. I don't know Mountain Goats but I'm about to dive into 'Get Lonely' and check them out.
I have lots of Joni. I know, most people cite BLUE as their favorite but I love Court and Spark (her Revolver), Summer Lawns (her Sgt Pepper) and Don Juan's..(her white album)

Strewth, that chappie on the left is playing a double-necked guitar.
What a complete tool! No one has ever looked good playing a double-necked guitar. Ever. Never happened.
Cue Mr. K. posting a picture of someone (Jimmy Page is 2/7, Steve Howe 3/1, Brian May 5/1, everyone else 20/1 or beyond) playing a double-necked guitar in the dire 1970s, and saying they look great, when, of course, they plainly don't!

Oh dear Ranger, yet again you totally miss the point of music and focus on the visual experience. I suppose a shirt and tie is the order of the day with you. Christ, you probably sleep in a three piece suit! There is of course a very practical reason why a twin neck guitar is played at a live gig. It's because..........do you know what, I can't be arsed. Go and write some songs of various genres and play them live on stage. THEN you might understand!

Sorry, Acts of Man is the name of the song isn't. Midlake is the band. Acts of Man is a much better name for a band though!
