I'm not sure how deep their relationship became since there is very little info on them as a couple. But how many knew that in the early 60's George briefly dated Estelle Bennet of Ronnettes fame? She was Ronnie's older sister and designed all their outfits. Some state she was the "prettiest Ronnette". Insiders state her demeanor was sweet, shy, and quiet. There are also rumors that fellow Ronnette Nedra also dated Ringo for awhile. Since the women were chaperoned by family, I think the dates stayed on a friendship level but who knows. Ronnie details the groups romances somewhat in her autobio "Be My Baby". The group also dated members of the Stones, and Estelle also dated Johnny Mathis back in the 60's too. Sadly Estelle suffered from mental illness after the group broke up, and died from cancer at 67 in 2009.

That was probably during their first U.S. visit. The Ronnettes use to hang out with Murray the K alot and he probably got them their dates. In the video 'Beatles First US Visit' Ringo was out on the dance floor with one of them so that was probably their BIG date! Rory Storm's sister Iris dated George when she was 12 and Georgie was only 15 and a Quarryman and then she dated Paul when he was a Silver Beatle at 17. So she had two Beatles!! lol

Hi Rocky,
Was the video interesting? Did it highlight rare tidbits instead the same stuff we have see a million times before? Was Ringo the only one shown dancing. Do you mean Murray set up their dates? I dont recall reading that in Ronnie's book. Who knows? Good Grief, George was dating a 12 year old, that's strange. I know they went steady when she was older, since Iris stated George was the first guy to give her a passionate kiss in her late teens. I did not know the Ronnettes were the only girl group to tour with the guys. I read about the gf swapping. Maureen also dated Paul before Ringo, and years later engaged in an affair with George. It's only R&R right!

Hi Violet, it is one of the better videos. Has all the Ed Sullivan shows on it and the concert at Wash. D.C. The Ronnettes didn't tour with the Beatles they just went to that disco with Murray and met up with Ringo and I think John was there too, but he didn't do any dancing.

Thanks for the review. The Ronnettes did join them on their final tour in 1966. I might try to fid that video in a library someday.
