Pretty good group. As usual, as it is with most people my age, I first Heard "Frampton Comes Alive". Then I discovered Steve Marriott's post "Small Faces" band and discovered to my great delight that Peter Frampton was in a cool band.

Yeh. Love Steve Marriott. Frampton Alive is one that passed me by . I do have it now, but not really set me on the path of the Frampton . But his take on While My Giutar is a masterpiece . Talkin Guitar heroes . Has anyone seen this brilliant film It Might Get Loud . Page , White and the Edge show off . A Must watch for Zepp fans . Brilliant film .

Well of course their early stuff is the highest quality stuff if we're talking about Ozzy. Technical Ecstasy and Never Say Die are sort of weak. But Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules were very excellent too, but with a different singer and also a very 'New Wave Of British Heavy Metal'' influence to keep them up to date and competitive. I also really like Born Again. Those 3 albums were my high school period albums. I love 'Disturbing The Priest'. I lost interest after that. Glenn Hughes and whoever else there was later on just didn't cut it.
Is Black Sabbath the best metal album ever? Maybe close. I think Paranoid is closer. Master Of Reality is the first sludge/doom metal album.
I think Deep Purple In Rock is as heavy as any of those Sabbath records.

I think the first 6 Sabbath albums as genius . Parnoid would be my next choice for the best Metal album ever . I think Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath just has the edge just for the opening track . I am not keen on Sabbath after Sabotage , I think they were on there way down from there .(the state of Ozzy would`nt have helped . ) I guess I may have out played Sabbath by the time Gillian , Dio and Hughes came around ( But now have respect for Hughes after seeing Black Country Communion ) As For In Rock I would`nt class that as Metal , more Hard Rock (just) A bloody Brilliant Live Sabbath .

There has been another great loss to the Rock world this week .
Ray Manzarek and Trevor Boulder .
Trevor Boulder was the Bass player in the Spiders and later joined Uriah Heep.

It took me awhile to get into American Rock Bands . My first introduction was when I saw Woodstock the movie around 79 . Crosby ,Stills And Nash , Airplane , Santana and of course Hendrix . I`m into The Doors ,Joe Bonnamassa, Heart (early stuff) Neil Young , Smashing Pumpkins ,Tom Petty , White Stripes .
But when it comes down to it , you can`t beat British rock bands
I always have really thought of Hendrix and Fleetwood Mac as ours too.
As for Canada ! They have a few great bands of there own . Oh ! arn`t Heart Canadian . Oh and Neil Young !

What do people on here think about Mountain?
To me, this is one of the finest rock songs you're likely to hear :

Robin Trower. The white Hendrix. I only have Bridge Of Sighs but it does regular duty on my record player.
I love the covers. Breeders do a great job. Nice and unpolished as it should be. I have that RAGE album. Good stuff. And I have the Cardigans album where they do IRON MAN. Such a novel way to present those Sabbath songs. I'd shake her hand anytime.
And Nazareth took that Joni song and totally made it their own.
Now here's a great cover or two.

Bridge of sighs is a killer song. Aside from Robin Trower's guitar work, James Dewars vocals are incredible. RIP
