This is a view of Salisbury from Old Sarum castle on the northern outskirts - you can see the Cathedral, it's about two or three miles and this one was zoomed in a bit, the Cathedral's a bit clearer

I promise; my last post...un gaitero asturiano, an asturian pipper. I can´t stop talking about my Asturias, sorry. Mountains, beaches, cider, pipes and the best food all over Spain. Almost perfect, the only thing Asturias would need to be absolutely perfect is Liverpool. ¡Puxa Asturies! (Viva Asturias in asturiano, our language) Attachments:

¡Je, je! Covadonga is the little town where it´s said that Spain was born in the IXth century. Asturias was the unique part of Spain that was no invaded in that period and the battle took place there. Since that moment Asturian people start fighting to recover the lands. That took us several centuries because we got drunk after every winned battle (this last point is not 100% confirmed historically talking but we can guess). This forum is becoming a "Trivial Pursuit", you always learn something Of course you are all invited to our cider festival

This forum is becoming a "Trivial Pursuit", you always learn something I like it - good cultural exchanges. Maria, which UK region do you think should win UK Capital Of Culture 2013? See the entries in the thread I set up in Random Chat. Don't worry too much if you have/have not visited the areas, maybe just base your opinion on impressions/reputations of the areas. Of course you are all invited to our cider festival "Taxi for Spain!"

Obviously Liverpool; I know it was in 2008, but, as you say, where else? My second option is Gijón
