These second two images are amazing and the source was part of this band so they are genuine.
These images are of a band rehearsing in 1964 in what was one the Morgue Skiffle Cellar in Balgownie. You can see it was redecorated and that there was a window but the stage that Ernest, Rory and Johnny is visible. To have any photographic evidence is unheard of so these are amazing.
I'm not so sure that was a window in the Club. If it was a celler it would be underground. Maybe a poster board with paper lists attached.
I didn't think the Morgue lasted until '64? I thought it was done when the cops arrived because people complained the groups were too loud and they didn't have a permit after a few weeks of operation in '58.
OK re-reading it they were just rehearsing in the place where the original club was.
I love that picture and the comments were funny. I was intrigued by the thought that Olivia had a copy of a photograph of RSATH that George must have owned. A lovely thought that he George still had links to the pre fame days.
Also there are the ties between George and Charles wanting that strat in Hamburg and here George & John go down to the shop to get the guitar and find out, Rory who was going to lend George the money for the guitar, changed his mind and bought the strat for Charles. Of course George was just upset, while John on the other hand wanted to take on the whole RSATH group! lol John was just armed with the nasty tongue while Charles was a boxer, so that ended that argument fast. hahaha
You can only image what would have happened if Charles and RSATH had really stood their ground. I could have this wrong but the one person I feel was tougher than them all was Gerry Marsden. Talented boxer just like Charles. I suspect Ringo could handle himself as well.
