Did,nt George Harrison produce Badfinger on that song? The credited producers are Harrison and Todd Rundgren. Geoff Emerick recorded the original album. However Harrison decided he could improve on the album and set about re-recording it. He only worked on a couple of tracks before going off to the concert for Bangladesh and handed it over Rundgren to finish off the album. Not being a big Badfinger fan I'm not sure which tracks Harrison produced. I'm sure someone on the forum can tell us.

I never really dove too deeply into the Badfinger catalog. All I bothered to get was "The Very Best Of Badfinger", and I rarely play it. But when I do play it I wonder why I don't play it that often. I really do like "No Matter What", "Day After Day" and "Baby Blue".
I remember a friend in school who insisted "Day After Day" was an Eric Clapton song. I had to bring the record to school to let him know the truth.

Here is an excellent dedicated forum to Badfinger linkI have been listening and reading about the history of Badfinger a lot recently. The depth of affection for this band is amazing. The depth of hatred toward Stan Polley is quite staggering. The thoughts on Joey Molland (a Beatle week regular, regular at Beatle conventions all over the world and keeper of the Badfinger flame) are VERY revealing. I would be very happy discussing this band on this forum.

Thought I would just bump up this old 8 1/2 year old Thread on Badfinger instead of starting a new one. I want to add these very interesting video interviews with Chris Treiber talking about Badfinger.

another very quiet day at work but this topic inspired me to play some Badfinger on youtube. I don't have any of their records not even a greatest hits but maybe i'll have to get that sorted. I know they were mismanaged and had tragic consequences. Hopefully Sky Arts or BBC 4, if they haven't already done one that i missed , bring out a documentary of them . Musically they sound like what The Beatles may have sounded like had they stayed together.

What is ironic with Peter Ham is that he hung himself because of money problems he was having at the time. The guitar he had that was given to him by George Harrison in 1969 and when Peter died in 1974, was stored away by his brother and not rediscovered until the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame contacted him in preparation for a Badfinger retrospective in 2002. He put up the guitar for sale in Dec. 2004 and it sold to an anonymous bidder for 294,000 pds.($377,231 USD). Since then the guitar has been on loan to the Hall of Fame, in Ohio.
