Has anyone here played a Rick 325 like Lennon's? It's looks tiny in his hands. If so I am curious if it makes playing certain blues bar chords easier - such as bouncing the pinky? I know i am taller than JL and on my telecaster, some of those reaches are a bitch.
On a side note, it's funny how you can tell how big a musician is compared to their guitar. Angus Young of ACDC looks like a child - i understand he is actually small - but gibson SG's are big. Thats why this Rickenbacher thing is throwing me.

I haven't really played one - perhaps picked one up for 2 minutes in a shop - but my understanding is it easier to play bar chords and moving your little finger for the blues. It's also easier to play 7th chords in the C7 position and get your thumb around the neck to hold down the bottom E string, something which Lennon use to do a fair bit on his.
SG's aren't that big. I own one. You're right, Angus is small. Take Pete Townshend who must be at least 5'11'', his SG looked small on him.

I have 3 rickenbacker 325's and fairly large hands and yes for me they are difficult to play. Lennon wasn't a big guy and had small hands so this guitar suited him. Yes it is very easy to "Bounce the pinky" on this short scale guitar because the frets are so close together when you get up the neck.
