I know what you are saying about Yes being an ever changing band of musicians but they have nothing left to prove now in terms of new music so why ditch the main musical inspiration at this point in their career? They had things to prove around the Drama period as they needed reacceptance in the music world as a force to be reckoned with after onslaught of Punk. Drama is an excellent album. Surely one of the best rock intros is Does It Really Happen. It's gotta be up there anyway.
The rumour mill is suggesting an Anderson/Rabin/Wakeman collaboration this year. Wouldn't it be amazing if they dragged Bruford out of retirement and drafted in Tony Levin on bass! It would another Yes vs ABWH scenario. That would really piss the current official line up of Yes right off!

BeatlesForever, you are one crazy music fan who has a song for EVERY occasion. Bravo.
So, Yes have nothing to prove musically to US but I can understand them wanting to prove to themselves that they still have IT. That they can still do it. That they can be relevant NOW rather than just an inspiration from the past. Trevor Rabin has said that Jon and Chris just do not get along so a split had to be inevitable. So, The Drama line-up re-unites, get a young singer, and hit the road for a couple of years.
Chris likes being a rock star and Steve Howe's whole identity is bound up in Yes. That's why I always felt a bit bad for Howe in the '80s when he suddenly finds out that there is a group called Yes again and he's not in it. So it's like a need for them to do this.
But the nay-sayers will continue to nay-say, whatever they do, so, I say, bite me! (with love, of course)

Modern prog: This band can be frighteningly beautiful and crushingly heavy in the same song.

Take care.

I love Relayer. I used to wish, though, that the production was more like Fragile or Close To The Edge. But that's only minor gripes compared to the music. The Gates... features some ripping great guitar playing. That is one cool album. I have a 1976 concert and it's a cracker. That was a great band for a glorious couple of years. ('74-'76).

I'm on a roll! Time for a quiz.
When Mick Abrahams quit Jethro Tull in late '68 who filled in for him at this show?
Who ever gets it wins a cookie. Just get up and go into your kitchen and get one. In fact you don't even have to play to win. Just go get a cookie. Now!

The answer is TONY IOMMI! Forget the cookie, I just want another CD! Ha Ha! Take care. Don't you already have every CD? So. I see I can't easily get one over on you Beatlesforever. I'll have to think of a question so fiendishly clever, you be at least 10 minutes trying to figure it out. I'll be back!

YOU WANT SOME MORE?
Genesis. Now this lineup should've done another album fairly quickly and given themselves time to develop. This group did have potential I would've thought. Ray Wilson was quite disappointed that they gave up so quickly. Of course, not every song was a winner, but as I said, the group had potential. Although, Calling All Stations is a worthy contender for most lame album cover ever.
(I should stop posting videos as they WILL be deleted sooner or later some time down the road. Copyright laws and rubbish like that. Future generations will click on these links and get confused because there's nothing there!)

Here it goes, what does Paul Carrack have in common with GENESIS? Take care. Mike and the Mechanics. How is Paul Carrack connected to Pink Floyd? Thats a good question amadeus! I have not done any research here so I'm going off the top of my head. I do know that Paul Carrack has a good relationship with Roger Waters, Carrack worked and toured with Rogers during the 1987 Radio KAOS album and tour. Carrack also worked with Waters in 1990 during THE WALL IN BERLIN. I do own both albums. Did I miss anything, please tell me. Take care.
