Do you have any suggestions how to make this forum better? I was thinking that maybe there are too many categories and sub-categories - what do you think? Should these be condensed? All comments gladly received!

"Any suggestions? Well, for one, I don't like your tie." George Harrison getting to know George Martin in their first meeting.
Back to the ? at hand:
I don't think I think there are too many categories, but when I go to the games section, it seems like I have to search around a lot to find the right game, it's always embedded in the last category I look in. I guess that would be obvious in that I wouldn't keep looking after I found it, would I, but hopefully the point is made, despite the run-on sentences.
KUTGWTE!

I noticed that when I've read one sub-board, the main board already marks it as 'read' while it's not? Am I clear?

Yeah, I have noticed that too - it's forum ProBoard bug!
There are 2 major ProBoard releases coming soon though - 4.5 which fixes a few glitches and adds a few new features and then 5.0 which will be the biggest update ever, apparently!

Cheers mate! I know exactly what you mean about the games section - I've got a few ideas which might fix the problem

Over the past few days I have cut back on a lot of the categories and sub categories - I hope it has made it easier to navigate. If not, I am open to any more suggestions

On my browser (Mozilla Firefox) threads in the boards are not listed by the last post in it. I mean: the threads with the most recent posts should be on top, right? Looks like they're not. Well, in some, but some not.

That may be due to the recent changes I've made to some categories and sub-categories - hopefully it will sort itself out once members start posting in them

Hang on.....what about Live at the BBC, Live At The Hollywood Bowl, Live At The Star Club, Red and Blue albums, Love Songs, Beatles Ballads......the list is endless!

Suggestion... How about a subforum for each of The Beatles' albums? Now this is getting spooky - I was seriously thinking the exact same thing the other week!!! This was the idea I was going to float: to start off, maybe have an album a week (or every 2 weeks or whatever) running chronologically from Please Please Me onwards and invite members to provide reviews and/or personal reminiscences of each track - that way it will gradually build into a comprehensive overview of the Beatles recorded output. As new members join, they will of course be able to add their own reviews to the existing albums. What got me thinking about it was the recent discussion about All I've Got To Do as it reminded me I wrote a review of With The Beatles on here about 5 years ago (that'll be my contribution for that album plus some little tweaks!!). So yeah, I am well up for that - so if you'd like to get writing your reviews for Please Please Me I'll set up the boards to accommodate them!! If you've got any other suggestions for this please do throw them into the ring/hat! AL

I think it would also be worth carrying on the official EMI compilations as well after the original albums have been up. Then move onto solo albums. This should be great! It's all going to take a while to compile but I like the idea of an album of the fortnight of the week or whatever so we can focus on an album for existing members but new members can contribute to anything.

I wonder if it should include their "first two" albums from '61 and '62.
The Savage Young Beatles or whatever title you have, and the Decca 'album'.
And their 'live' 1962 Star Club album.

Perhaps we could start off with the standard EMI releases then diversify to other releases - maybe even have a vote every couple of weeks? What do you think?

I was thinking that the sub-forums for each album could be as follows:
1) Please Please Me 2) With The Beatles 3) A Hard Day's Night 4) Beatles For Sale 5) Help! 6) Rubber Soul 7) Revolver 8) Sgt. Pepper 9) Magical Mystery Tour 10)White 11)Yellow Submarine 12)Abbey Road 13)Let It Be 14)Past Masters 15)From Then To You (a/k/a The Beatles Christmas Album) 16)The Beatles At The Hollywood Bowl 17)Live At The BBC 18)Anthology 1 19)Anthology 2 20)Anthology 3 21)Love 22)Let It Be...Naked 23)all the compilations 24)all the Tony Sheridan/Decca/Star Club albums
Just a thought...
