I think I shall have to buy it. How was the Let It Be`s then ? (A Kite Production )

Hello Mr Kite and welcome back from sunny Southport. Did you have 2 weeks there?
I suppose you will be looking forward to Red Dwarf X. I think it starts this weekend.
Have you watched the Wild Geese yet? You need to.
Let It Be was excellent. Really good quality. Thanks a lot for that.

I just think Let It Be will never be officially released on DVD/Blu Ray. There are some brilliant moments but as an entire piece I find it quite depressing as you are watching the disintegration of one of the most important events in history right in front of your eyes. I just can't see this being made available for mass consumption in the same way Hard Days Night, Help and Magical Mystery Tour where.
I might be wrong and I am happy to be told I'm wrong if someone has a different take on it.

When then Mr Musty I will . I really do love Let It Be. As you say it is like watching the death of the greatest band that has ever put songs together in the way The Beatles did. Not just the music but there humour ,presonallity and of cousre films . When I first saw it in my early teens I was very and truly into everything that was Fab Four. So I saw this with as more of a documentry on them and did`nt see the politics of it . If you get my point. Where else can you see them perform Dig It , Two Of Us , Dig A Pony , Let It Be , The Long And Winding Road . Etc Etc Etc . Just so brilliant in my opinion . I know Macca may come across a bit over bearing but you can see his passion for the band even after all the falling out . Better to have Let It Be than not to be. That is my answer.

Yes, the musical performances are the brilliant parts. I agree with you on the George/Paul debacle. I have always thought that the movie shows Paul in the best light in terms of keeping this great little Rock 'n' Roll band together. The others clearly do not have the same interest. I think I have read Lennon complaining that Michael Lyndsey Hogg gave Paul the best moments. However I can't really imagine there was better stuff left on the cutting room floor. If Lennon wasn't singing, playing or dancing he otherwise couldn't give a toss.
It does come across like a documentary rather than a feature film. There are undeniably some fantastic moments but I just can't see it being released to massive fanfare to mass public consumption.

Just watched "let it be" movie.really enjoyed it. Would be brilliant if it ever got released on bluray. Picture cleaned up & sound remastered. It would be an amazing legacy to the history not only of The Beatles But of Rock n Roll. I think they all come out it with flying colours. So what George & Paul had a minor disagreement these things happen within bands. The roof top gig is a part of Rock N Roll folklore & is icing on the cake regarding the movie

Just watched Gattaca this morning and forgot what a brilliant Sci Fi movie it is.Still stands up well. Another Sci Fi movie I'm sure you've seen MrKite but have Yet discussed. The movie is Enemy Mine.Yes I know it's a bit ropey in places & also unintentionally funny too. Its a great story & a fab concept & is a cult classic. Great cast & a renowned director in Wolfgang Petersen. Who made Das Boot just 4 yrs earlier,Couldnt be two more different movies. Your thoughts are welcome film fans

Your spot on there Sunny . Gattaca is a classic Sci Fi . It`s sat on my shelf . It`s one of those Noir Sci Fi films that works . Uma`s in it , so thats me sold right away . Enemy Mine . Right again Sunny another classic Sci Fi . Great film , and what a tear jerker ending . Saw Dredd 3D last week and Total Recall today . Dredd is a top shoot `em up and works well with the 3D. Total Recall is a good film but not a patch on the original. Kate Beckinsale is the one that keeps you interested .

Yes Kitey Meaning to see those movies myself.Although don't have much confidence in Farell playing the lead though.Recently watched original Recall again & it still stands up really well. Also Sharon Stone is in it, when she was on top of her game. Interesting you seen Dredd in 3D & recommend it.There have been several 3D films that have not really added much apart from depth.Where as Avatar 3D is the benchmark 3D flick. Its out next month by the way on 3D Blu-ray. Been cinema today & watched the latest Woody Allen offering To Rome with Love. Very enjoyable too & great to see him in front of the camera once again. Keep the recommendations coming especially of the Sci Fi genre ,well of any genre actually

You are spot on again Sunny . Farrell was not the best choice for the role . As For 3D Your right again some films don`t do the 3D justice (No Pun Intended) I saw Wraith Of The Titans at The I Max and it was blured in the action scenes But Dredd really was made for 3D . I was impressed . Resident Afterlife and Prometheus were also excellent . Well Sunny . You are truly a Woody fan . The last Woody film I saw at the pictures was Husbands And Wives . Your the first one I`ve met! (kinda ) I love Jewish humour , I also have a soft spot for The Marx Brothers ( As Woody ) . I will keep you updated with films it will be my pleasure. The main reason I started the thread . I do watch films an awful lot and go to the Cinema at least 3 times a month. A question for you ( And anybody else ) Do you watch World Cinema movies ? I seen a hell of a lot . I can reconmend some crackers .

I do enjoy World cinema but need to watch more ,so post your top ten recommendations & I'll try & check them out. Really enjoyed Prometheus in 3D.Can,t wait for it to come out on Blu ray. It's one those movies were you see something new every time you watch it. Just seen that Dune is now out on Blu ray .dying to see that all cleaned up. Going to watch Sideways tonight. Happy film watching.

your a Dune fan ! I saw it at the time when I was into lynch . Sci Fi and Lynch . You can`t get more mind blowing than that . Ok then , my top World Cinema . That is a tough one , as I could go with 10 Martial Arts . But I wont 1. Old Boy It has the most bizzare revenge plot ever . But that matters not . 2. The Girl With The Dragon TattooForget the remake . Noomi Pace . Enough said. 3. I Saw The Devil. Once again as with Old Boy , it`s not a great plot , but Jesus . You will remember this film as long as you live . Please do not watch this film if your sqeamish , it is one hell of a gruesome film . 4. Martyrs Again , not for the faint hearted . This film is really one hell of a gruesome and mind blowing film . I have only watched it once and I`m still trying to come to terms with it then try and watch it again . It is very , very disturbing ... Seriously . 5. House Of The Flying Daggers As much as I like Crouching Tiger , Hidden Dragon , I think this is a lot better. 6. The Raid This is one of the best films I`ve had to pure pleasure to see at the Cinema . If you want a film that is just end to end high drenalin action . Look no more . Tell me a film thats better and I will blow my Fridge up . 7. Lady Vengence How can I sell this film ! If you love bizzare and blood, and revenge movies . This is for you . 8. Let The Right One In. A brilliant twist on Vampire lore 9. ThirstAs above . Just a brilliant Vampire movie with a Vicar as the Vampire . One of the best Vampire endings ever ! 10. A ProphetA prison film that has to be one of the best ever made . That is it . For now . Enjoy .( If You can )
