This band, based in Branson, Missouri in the USA, was formed by George Harrison's older sister Louise shortly after his death in 2001. Louise wanted to form a tribute to her brother's music and found these four guys, who are, in my opinion, the best in the business. They are absolutely incredible. Especially notable are Marty and Kevin who portray George and John, respectively. Aside from the uncanny physical similarities, these guys have gotten this down to a science, and sound exactly like their counterparts. Liverpool Legends are, in a word, incredible. And they are sweet guys too! I got to meet them after a show and they are so much fun! The special guest during every show's intermission is Louise, George's sister, who answers questions about the Beatles and about George and tells stories. Below is a video of Marty and Louise singing a duet, aren't they sweet? Check them out, you will NOT be disappointed! www.liverpoollegends.com

Do you know any of the band? Do they want to play The Cavern in Liverpool?
Assuming yes, I'm sure I could help set that up.
International Beatle Week in August would be the obvious choice, but any time of year would be possible.

Their website says, "They appeared on The Travel Channel's "Beatlemania Britain" and headlined "International Beatles Week" in Liverpool where 100,000 Beatles fans jammed Victoria Street to hear them in concert."Check it out, www.liverpoollegends.com/about_us.htmlI don't know any of the guys personally, but I am actually going to be at a concert of theirs in February.

I remember them playing Beatle Week years ago at one of the theatres (Rob will probably know which one - it's now a restaurant I believe!). At one point Louise Harrison actually came out on stage and read the lyrics of Think For Yourself and suggested that George W Bush should listen to them! Very good band

You've got to love her...yeah, they're great. It was a little scary how good Marty was at George. Had it down pat when I saw them last summer. They're incredibly sweet people, too.

Ah, you chatted to them then! I think it was maybe 3 or 4 years ago they played Liverpool. It was quite poignant the way she read those lyrics though - made ME think, that's for sure!

I remember them playing Beatle Week years ago at one of the theatres (Rob will probably know which one - it's now a restaurant I believe!). It could have been The Royal Court Al, where you and I have been to together at least one (er, drunk?!). It's not been converted to a restaurant as far as I know, but in the stalls can offer an American-style lounge/restaurant facilities for things like comedy nights. I'll have to look back through my Mathew Street Festival archives to find them. The MSF is part of International Beatle Week - a very big part, Europe's biggest outdoor free music festival. It would have been around 10,000, not 100,000 fans - Victoria Street is not THAT big!

Well, in one direction from there is The Empire, in the other The Playhouse - as far as I know never been used for IBW events - and The Royal Court. The only theatre that is closed in Liverpool is The Neptune, which hopefully will re-open soon with new investment, so my guess is The Royal Court. Ofcourse we don't have as many theatres as London (Ooo, get you Al!) but we do have the most in the UK outside London!

I had the most fun talking to Greg, who plays Ringo. He was one of the nicest people I think I've ever met, and funny! I got to talk to all of them, but Bob, who is their keyboardist, and I had a very nice conversation about playing piano. He learned the majority of the music and sound effects he plays by ear, which amazed me, since I was trained on piano to read sheet music and I couldn't play something by ear if you paid me. I also loved being able to chat with Marty, who was also incredibly sweet... Haha, I look all squinty and ridiculous but it's a fun picture anyway.

Erm... to clarify, you're referring to the tambourine playing, right (or is it tamnbou ring?)

ah, ummm oh,
ah well i'm gonna do it, i'm going into BW geek mode just to say....
I think the gig at the Royal Court you mentioned was Marty and Kevin's previous band American English (Marty being the George that they didn't loose in Paris! What if... all the band were in the right country for the start of their gig lol). AE were playing Blue album to 1964's Red Album.
Liverpool Legends previous Paul - Davey Justice was in second British Export line up that featured Gav (which i think makes it the 4th BW BE line-up)
