I don't think Muddy ever had his own thread on here, so now he does. I just built a replica of his Red tele for my collection. I'm still finishing it up, have to get a new pickguard and a bridge like Muddy had on his. Muddy bought his Fender Telecaster in 1958 and had it until he passed away in 1983. It was originally white and Muddy had it refinished in Candy Apple Red in 1961 and put a newer rosewood neck on it.

LOL Too late to delete it Mr. K Amadeus caught you! hahaha I was going to say Muddy never played with U2. Same color different story. haha
I was reading about Muddy last nite cause he was born in Clarksdale Ms in 1915 and all those famous blues guys were down around there in that era playing the Delta Blues. It's a known fact that Muddy played with Eddie "Son House" James (d.1988) and Willie Brown (d.1952). But I was curious if Muddy knew Robert Johnson (d.1937) or Charlie Patton (d.1934). Here Muddy had seen Robert Johnson play a couple of times when Muddy was about 21, but Muddy was too shy to introduce himself to Robert. And as for Patton he said he knew of him, but never seen him. Muddy himself left for St. Louis to start a career there, came back, and left again for Chicago in 1940, and the rest is history. You also had Hank Williams (d.1953) starting his career down in Alabama. about 350 mi. away, about the same time in the late 30's early 40's.
