Those loveable moptops from....Tottenham! In Canada (only in Canada huh?) Capitol decided to put out another DC5 album by collecting up instrumentals from other albums and Voila! We have a 'new' DC5 album with all instrumentals. My auntie gave it to me as she was clearing out her husband's records along with her own. I went home with most of them. I think I'm at about 1,000 records now although I should count them up in order to brag properly. I guess side one is sort of 'mood' music for those grown up sort of gettogethers. And for 'Go Go parties' just, apparently, flip over to side two! And GET DOWN! (before someone gets hurt?) Here's a little something from the boogie side for your enjoyment.

A mesmerizing shoegaze/space rock/trip-hop hybrid. At times it's dark and drugged-out, elsewhere it's bright and warm, with the constant pulse of downtempo beats and a droning wall of guitars and synth. Or as normal people would describe it: boring.

The Who - WHO (2019) The LP that Mr Kite just reviewed, here in living colour. Like I said, I didn't dislike it though it sounds like Who by numbers at times. But it's well played and for guys that are in their 70 it's pretty spirited. I decided to get the 45rpm 2 and a half record version in a fit of pique. The one sleeve features more great WHO albums for your collection.

I've done a COVID 19 dance mix for all the ravers that are forced to have parties of three people or less. I did it on one of those 'VIBE" USB record players that only cost $40 CAD. The sound quality is appropriate for an apocalyptic event so enjoy and don't choke. Here's the 80s throwback you need to help you sweat it out. May the 'whatever' be with you! www.mixcloud.com/Amadeus99/apocalyptic-dance-party-on-a-budget/

Fairuz - Wahdon (1979) So I love some of them there foreign sounds. This is a woman from Lebanon who I discovered while looking for cool middle eastern sounds and discovered that Fairuz is to the Arab speaking world slightly more than what Madonna was to the western world. I love the melodies and she's a bit of a looker too. In fact I liked it so much, I had to buy the t-shirt.

Coming Friday. While I have no memorial for passed heroes specifically, I do continue the celebration of the musical arts of both the living and dead. But I gotta say, the last five years or so has really culled the heard as it were. On Friday: some vinyl and (gasp) digital (oh boy) delectable sounds for your enjoyment. www.mixcloud.com/Amadeus99/

Altin Gun - On (2017) A Turkish group from The Netherlands playing retro psych/funk in 2017. Does it get better than this..... Well, yes but still, this is pretty sweet!

As if you were interested: Tomorrow at some random time comes episode 7, featuring some more very difficult to listen to stuff for the likes of Mr Kite. If he doesn't like it, it MUST be good! Also featuring what could probably be the first rock and roll song ever.
