Unfortunately, I have. Went with my wife in 1984, soon after the film was on general release. Anyway, this is my personal take on it. I thought it was awful, terrible and it's a couple of hours of my life I'll never get back. And that bloody frog chorus . Ringo's acting was embarrassing. Paul and Linda's acting weren't much better which is very strange seeing as they were all playing themselves!
As for being on T.V. I think Macca must pay people not to show it !
It was the 80s , and I think Macca was trying to make his way through the years without touring and he came up with this ? I had it on VHS and I have even watched it more than once and it does`nt get any better Bad script , bad acting , bad, bad , bad ... And if the film needs summing up it has the wrestler Giant Haystack in it . I know , and I can`t understand why Macca asked him either . The soundtrack is`nt that good apart from No More Lonely Nights , which I liked at the time . For some reason my Vinyl album is no longer in my collection ? It was the 80`s .
The reason why I asked is the video of No More Lonely Nights came up on tv yesterday. I recall the track very well from my teen years but the images of Macca in the white make up and Victorian costume reminded my of the movie that never seemed to appear on TV. I do recall it getting poor reviews. So it does not even fit the so bad its good category.
